Two things as public notice: 1. + Show Spoiler [Quarterfinals 1 spoiler] +Congrats to Fnatic, they played superbly and glgl to them in the Semis! No one is saying that Fnatic only won because of the level 1 in Game 3. Please keep the nationalistic statements out of our subforum. 2. Riot's Worlds format is atrocious. Let's not beat a dead horse here. I will certainly be talking to Riot's eSports dept about it in the near future. I simply ask everyone to be civil. Humble in victory, graceful in defeat. Enjoy the games~ -Neo, Sept 23rd, 3:20 PM PDT, page 120 |

Short recap please? Game 2 was a huge stomp. Game 1 was okay, but mid lane Kassadin vs Faker's Ahri is no good. He was around 100 cs behind at some points that only kept growing. Bot lane was actually quite good the first game, and were pressuring SKT T1's bot lane for a bit. Bengi had early kills which he turned into an early oracles, and took wards off the map for Gama Bears. Bengi played really well both games. Weird, I don't think Kassadin is that bad against Ahri(even though he needs to be really careful about recklessly harrassing her or he gets deleted). I wonder if there's a chance we can see something like xPeke Kassadin vs Faker Ahri, would be very interesting A good kassadin can stay around 10 cs behind and by level 6 that pretty much means he's ahead. Most people will agree that's a favorable matchup for the kassadin. Ahri has to land skillshots, kassadin just target silences and takes cs. Both will start flask and after kassadin gets blue the only thing ahri can do is try to keep pushing the lane. In the mid and late game kassadin will be much stronger.

Why poor Bears? They got 5-8th place at worlds without winning a single game. They can count themselves lucky. I mean I guess? but I figure building their fanbase internationally by playing more games is more beneficial than the prize money Let's be honest here. Even after TPA won S2 worlds, how many foreigners actually tuned in to watch TPA play in GPL? I don't know, they should have though ;o I know lots of people tuned in to watch Toyz stream, but that's probably more due to his individual play at worlds/personality. And honestly, it's probably a good thing people didn't tune in to watch TPA in GPL cause TPA just went on a huge, heartbreaking downward spiral post Worlds. Well I know one thing is for sure, if Korea ends up winning this OGN is going to get even more popular. Partly to do with the fact that international broadcasts from Korea are actually well supported with good production and no sound/video issues. Partly since they would confirm them as the region with the best team in the world AND the region with the highest quality teams on average. Oh also there's going to be no LCS for ages while Champion's will still be running and probably the LoL proleague too. It might get more popular, but time difference is still a huuuuuge barrier for Western watchers. VODs also aren't free, making it even harder for people to watch OGN. In a Grilled interview with Monte, this is addressed pretty well. To paraphrase Monte, the English OGN cast is pretty much catered to more hardcore viewers since the barrier to watching is high enough that only hardcore fans would follow OGN. It's possible and very likely that OGN western viewership will go up if SKT/Swords makes it farther, but I don't think it'll be by all that much tbh. I feel like the rebroadcasts have helped quite a bit. They seem to get a decent number of viewers.
The broadcast times themselves aren't too awful for EU either

Doesn't even matter if they crush Fnatic or Royal/OMG in a crazy convincing fashion. Most people are going to go away from worlds thinking Korea was overrated due to Ozone's performance. I honestly don't think so, I think they will just think Ozone is bad. well, the korean hype train was basically "every OGN playoff team can stomp NA/EU. that version got derailed.
that version was ridiculous though so that's good that it got derailed, this isn't starcraft

Hey a filler interview. A surprise to no-one. Also, OGN rebroadcasts are godly for east coast NA.

If skt1 parting played ST parting he could actually win a PvZ.

I really really hope OMG wins. It would be an amazing rematch and I love OMGs playstyle.
However, if Royal shows that they deserve it and outplay OMG properly, I'll have no issues.

I'm sad that Royal is playing OMG for one reason. Because they're playing OMG, I feel that the chances of us seeing a proper support Annie is next to nil. I really wanna see support Annie in a non-fail fashion.

I think Monte over plays the Aatrox ban, I think his stock has risen quite a bit over this tournament thanks to Lovelin, I wouldn't be surprised at all to see him become a priority pick next OGN season

You mean Riot buffs Ryze/Ez? TBH I don't see the point of Ryze over something like Cassiopeia, she has better range, more mobility, deals more damage and has better CC. Yes, she does deal more dmg even when built very tanky.

1) Bears are Taiwan, not SEA. 2) not sure how them losing here proves they are worse than NA in any way. Taiwan=Sea=garena ok there are not gpl team but they are still sea. Well, no. Taiwan got its own region qualifier with GAB is the winner. While SEA got a seperated region qualifier with Mineski...and well SEA sucks so much more than NA. Taiwan is Taiwan not SEA. sure but Taiwan still worse than NA. old TPA was a huge exception to the power strength of Taiwan/SEA/HK. Gama Bears doesn't look any better or worse than not-C9 ...serious? You people hate on NA too hard. Go rewatch TSM v. SKT game 1 and say that they're doing worse or on par with Gama Bears. How can you compare that. It's like sayin that Vulcun is better than C9 cause their win vs Fnatic was more convicing. Lol strawman much? nothing I said even implies that. You compared Bears game 2 & TSM's game 1 vs SKT as an argument that TSM is better than Bears. I was pointing out how absurd the transitive argument is, since you can compare Vulcun's G1 vs Fnatic with one of C9's games vs Fnatic by the same rules. I'm not convinced you know what a strawman argument is if you think that's one. when did I compare Bears game 2? Okay, Bears overall performance against SKT then. You still compared it with one specific game of TSM vs SKT, as an argument that TSM is better.
I'm not even saying TSM isn't better, just that it's a leap to compare 2 teams based on how they did against one single opponent. Imo Gama Bears' style matches up horribly against SKT's and I believe they would do quite well against many other teams at this tournament.
