People expected them to crush their group easily. People completely went over the top with the CTU hype when they tied Blaze. People already said NaJin was out of World Finals competition when they were revealed to go against Blaze in NLB quarters. The only reason they were underdogs against KT B was because of their history, and still they weren't considered underdogs by a long shot.

Makes laning much easier. If you lose lane on caitlyn then I fear what happens when you play a champion that is destined to lose lane from level 1. Twitch is the other strong laner in this meta but not as safe.

People actually expect Sword to crush the group and tabbed them as the early favorites for Winter. When they tied CTU all that changed, but they were still expected to advance. Blaze was also not favored vs Sword in the NLB Ro8.

They lost to KT B 3-2 and actually made it to the ro8. Sword hadn't done anything the past 2 seasons in the mean time.

And I don't think I've seen anyone pick Sword over Blaze for OGN groups, either - after all, MVP O was all the hype and Blaze was expected to never underestimate another team like that again. KT B should have this game. Fizz destroys Karthus all throughout the game, and Vi doesn't look like a champion Helios would be comfortable on. Insec getting overconfident might help Blaze to a win, though. Also, Flame "outplaying" Insec is very debatable - he had a bad lane matchup both times, did very well in game 1 and game 2 ended before anything decisive took place.

Sword won NLB 2 seasons in a row, while that might seem like nothing to the international scene its still very important and noteworthy achievement. Those 2 straight NLB victories are the reason they're going to worlds right now

All the Korean journalists/players had Black Sword making the Champions finals.
