Half these teams don't have Rosters on Leaguepedia, is there a webpage for the league for something where we can see them?
FXO is just a step above the rest of the teams here; CoL might be strong too.

You can find rosters on the website's team pages: http://www.mcsesports.com/teams

Looking forward to this finally starting, should be interesting to compare challenger teams and LCS teams on a reg basis
This tournament looks mad promising

I hope we get good activity in this thread about the tournament.
I actually have a lot of friends who are hoping to make it big, starting with this tournament. ;o go EHomda and uuLum!!
I'm just really happy that something not controlled by Riot has made its way into the limelight. When teams don't have farm systems, having a monopoly is a bad thing for the competitive scene, so we really need more things like this. It also lets me up my hipster pick prowess
Pretty pumped to see the amateur teams play.
Also go FXO!
Pity the times are so bad for me. Wouldn't mind watching some games.
Gonna definately watch at least all the Complexity games as TL's token CoL fan. Others will be watched at convenience
Cool sounding tournament. As said: this will be a nice comparison to LCS!
I really like Gold Gaming's logo. Will be watching them!
So close to being live soon!!
FXO and complexity are both a notch above the rest Curse academy with dom stepping down, denial, aware (previously salad bar), and summon (who've not been practicing, but when they practice, are on par with the top 2) fill out the top 6
the rest are less impressive teams that can hopefully start to get some traction with this tournament. new world eclipse has a bunch of big names but is overall unspectacular and untested, gleebglarbu leaving wazabi for denial really hurt wazabi, and the rest are relatively unknown to them
gotta watch this closely though O_O
The 45min per game schedule is.. ambitious.
you can't let a team have Nassus and Cait when you want to pick Vayne, they have no way to top the tower pushing
at least they have Gragas and Zed but it's still looking grim.
United States37500 Posts
Crs Acad has the edge here but NWE's Mid Lane, Shaoster, is pretty gud. :O
glgl
LR gogo
I feel like Nasus is a must ban if you want to run Vayne in competitive play
does anyone have the bans and pick order for this game?
Crs Academy dumpstering NWE

Virus is such a non-factor with Wither and Exhaust.
Oh god, I was listening to audio and everytime they said "Shaoster" I just imagined AtomicN's thresh flying at a tank under a turret :/
I actually kinda like NWE's team comp I just think they needed to bait some other picks out of crs, I feel like saving the Gragas pick for last was perhaps where this draft went wrong, but again crs is likely the better team to the tune of it not mattering anyway, Rhux styling on them with a 30/0/0 going into a 1v2 says as much.

LA gold is my sleeper team I'm rooting for LETS GO!

Please let us know if you have any suggestions for any improvements!

I know that some viewers on reddit were worried about the timing of the event, due to it being fairly late even on West Coast US. I know this is sorta unprecedented in League but casting replays ala SC2 could solve this problem! Whether or not the live tradeoff is worth it or not, and the fact that I think picks/bans will be not shown may make this not viable, but maybe something to consider if enough people want time-change.

I like their logo and when I first started playing league I really looked up to Umashi.
and TDTV was named Sugoi??? crush those weebos
picks and bans fairly even, going to come down to how badly Malphite loses lane (he should lose but how bad is variable) and how much work Ahri can get done in the mid game.
On the flip side Malph is a strong pick vs a Cait team and MF gives no fucks about wither. If LA gold can get either elise or Ahri strong enough to 4 and 1 split they can win, but malph makes 1-1-3 unviable and their teamcomp makes 5v5 not smart either unless way ahead.
This game could be decided in the lane phase.

Yeah we'll be looking into that! We do want to make sure everyone gets to see/follow the event We will be doing plenty of vods as well as youtube(double checking this) so in case anyone misses anything they'll be able to catch back up.

TD made so many picks early. Umashi with silly dives
I'm not really sure what to make of the trilane Jarvan made it clear he was not going to let it happen, but there isn't much else wappa chang could have done other than just decide to farm. I guess by forcing Jarvan to stay he allowed his aggressive lane picks to bully not that that worked out for them. I was actually reading GD during the kill bot so I'm not sure what happened lol.
The two solo lanes losing pretty much 1v1 in lanes they don't lose naturally is a tough blow, although you could argue Wappa team baited Easy into that ill advised tower dive on a lisandra with ult (that said easy missed the charm that would have killed her in the jungle.)

I don't know what to say about that game besides the pause was really unfortunate for the casters considering the game was basically out of hand before it happened.

Indeed but it's part of the job. Onwards to the next match~

I really don't like Athene's opens on Ori in s3. / Jayce buying a pickaxe before finishing Manamune.
United States37500 Posts
I think it's ok. But you could delay it, stick with chalice and build more AP earlier
Morellos or RoA are better in almost all situations, nerfed Athene's is just not first item material. To me Athene's is kinda like going PD first, it feels strong but it just isn't.
mostly though with this game I just don't think it's ok to let Jayce thru without picking an assassin to deal with him. That and xHazzard staying in lane at 100 hp less than advisable.
I thought Swinging Salt was a jungle main >.>
I used to play wow with a guy named Green Greed, who's parents pulled the plug on him in the middle of a ZA bear run lol. Wonder if it's the same guy, he was a super good druid player.
great engage from zac - game still in doubt
Edit - And then the next fight went terribly.
Really liked the support play from dLight, hitting some really nice stranglethorns in those teamfights that could have swung the tide had the game been closer
I feel like if Cait hadn't gotten caught completely on the other side of the fight from the rest of her team, the fight could have been a 5-0 ace for her team
This game might as well be solo queue, just awful

There are some pretty good games tonight. coL v FXO rematch from MLG Anaheim. EHomda's team play their first match today. Crs Acad is also up again. Crs Acad, is not surprise, always looking solid on paper. While I thought losing Dom would at least give them a hiccup in performance, Cpt Tran did rather well yesterday. It doesn't surprise me anymore when these kids come out ahead after laning phase, their mechanics are solid. It's just mid/late game calls that can sometimes throw it away for them.
I hope more people tune in tonight. :O Find a player or team that you like and let me know why you're rooting for them. XD
Yeah I think tonight is going to have some amazing games can't wait to see how awesome they are
I don't really like calling your B team "academy." Like CoL for instance. They're both in the same league, that seems more like equals than one being an academy. And makes it seem like it's just there to train players so that they can be assimilated into the main team.
Super excited for CoL vs FXO though. I really like both of those teams.
I'm going to be surprised if anyone takes out FXO, they really impressed me, and Westrice is able to play assassins again~

Cheering for FXO cause RobertXLee was the first streamer I watched in LoL when I finally started watching this instead of sc2.
I also want to see Westrice on rengar again :D
awe no westrice
edit so i don't double post :
I don't recall seeing megazero on ryze at all, interested to see how that goes.
I've never seen a Caitlin get destroyed this hard in lane in competitive play
On July 10 2013 10:23 Slusher wrote: I've never seen a Caitlin get destroyed this hard in lane in competitive play
Yeah I don't even know what happened in that lvl 1 fight all of a sudden cait was at no health and had to back. And since then nydus keeps nailing the bubbles.
I got all excited when I heard "rageblade" but it turns out the casters were just being dumb
excited to see Megazero play, disappointed no Westrice, but FXO 3stronk anyway
That ebb and flow was ridiculous haha, sick way to kill someone.
I like Nickwu but he's made some really questionable choices giving away buffs twice now by staying in fights he could run from at <20% hp
blue build core done Cait still no IE
the casters are really bad :{

full glass cannon Elise is pretty hilarious.

much closer than day 1, except mabye the first game lol

LA GOLD pls don't let me down this time.
goin with
LAgold Tempest FXO (but rooting for Greengreed) Aware and upset, Team Summon > CoL

I just thought summon looked better than expected yesterday and CoL basically the opposite, overlooked in that game was the fact that CoL got Ryze and Jayce and still managed to lose, granted FXO had Zed Nick looked really out of practice.
Annie is so good on this patch I really like Complexity's picks, but they both have good lineups vs each other in 5v5 and in lane, only real notable difference is CoL has no real way to deal with split push Elise if Gold decides to go that route, Nami/Cait is pretty much only 2nd to Janna/Cait in enabling split push for your team, add in Karthus..
Annie might be rough for Karthus with J4 in the jungle, if CoL can snowball this I think that might be their best plan to win, get annie a couple kills dominate midgame objectives with Tibbers.
Looking great tonight already! If only there wasn't that blackout for ggLA it might be a bit weird playing at the LAN center for them.
I'm really not a fan of W max Nami, with a cait who got an early vamp to boot, I just don't get it.
meanwhile Karthus went tear into RoA and only suffered one death in the buildup, and Umashi is doing so much better than yesterday, I think LAgold can pull this out.
United States37500 Posts
wow, wtf. Overstaying after a turret was expected to go down... dis ggLA.
yea if lum was going to take bot before backing they had to just sac it. thats probly the game, Annie has hit midgame critical mass.
lol dat trap
Yeah that was a crazy good for em ggLA just way too split to have defended
I feel like if they had 5 manned while the inhib was down they could have gotten more, but they are still ahead at least.
karthus impeccable positioning.
Yeah this is anyone's game right now academy had such a huge push early on
5 man clumping around lissandra zzzzzz
there was 3+ people in defile the entire fight.
Kenny's build is lacking damage for a team with a zac top. no warden's/hearts on complexity vs cait with all damage items completed this is pretty gross.
wow what a back and forth game...
not going to lie I was really worried after that horrible exchange in mid, but they looked in control for the entire rest of the game.
I feel like if Annie had gone Dorans into a damage item over RoA she could have mabye dunked Karthus, they used her RoA timing to get first dragon and tower though so it's hard to question the choice.
Really what it boiled down to is lissandra made it hard to kite Karthus and Easy just put out boatloads of incedental damage while Cait cleaned up.
Wappa hit some nice cacoons as well.
meanwhile CoL could have not been on skype and I would not have been suprised. the flash stun by Annie right after the first baron when there was literally 0 chance of her team following up before she died, then her team rolling in for the 4 v 5 vs a baron'd up team instead of running.
kinda a gross game, but I feel like ggLA could have made it look one sided if they had avoided a couple small (and one big) mistakes.

If you want Vayne, don't pick it into Nasus. If you do, please take Cleanse. wtf
Edit: these caster. :< I start W first on Renekton...
I went to get food but if he said w start on renek is bad he's just plain wrong. (I assume you mean lvl1)
wow just noticed the update! so awesome!! Thank you for the sticky who ever did that
anyone have any guess who's gonna take this next one?
I usually start with Q for Renekton (im trash elo though), what are the benefits of going W first?
Also go FXO!
both are fine, it's just saying anything other than E start is bad is wrong.
top lane starting with a stun wins trades in almost all matchups because a stunned champion does 0 damage, also because you should not be intending to engage lvl1 as Renek you will be stunning them inside of your minions.
fuck I love Urgot and it's a sick pick into Nasus but I don't know if he can win lane with Janna, I trust Nydus though.

In 1v1 Top, W and Enraged W (compared to Q and Enraged Q) is much better harass at level 1 and it also doesn't push the lane. (I go into lane auto attacking immediate to get up to 50 rage asap. Then looks for opportunities to land that Enraged W)
In a 1v2, I can see the merits for opening Q first.
