The more and more I see the NA teams play, the more and more I'm certain they need to work on their nerves issues. It effects them a lot more than any other scene I've seen. The all-star game against Korea/China proves this. Prime example is StV. SaintV has so much experience, but he definitely suffers from this. Don't know of anyone who is known for missing smites as much as StV has. There's such a huge lack of concentration, it's really impossible to say it's just bad judgement. Somethings are easier to see while spectating, but he definitely makes some of the weirdest choices when under pressure(recall that StV recall while 3-4 enemy members were on the same screen as his in the All-star game) That's a very interesting observation. Yeah, Saint derped pretty hard against Vulcun, nerves OP.

I mentioned only StV, but it's not just him. You see people like doublelift/clg in the same situation. TSM/Reginaid mentioned in his interview that they were something like 0-20 in scrims against CLG in the spring season, but when it came to LCS, they just couldn't do it. It's a huge issue that everyone just kinda ignores. You also notice multiple people speaking about how stressful LCS is, but I don't think any of them actually know how to relax in their current environment.
On a more positive note, I am glad that NA teams are finally realizing the need to have a coaching position on their team.

TSM beat them pretty easily, and they turned around and beat Vulcun pretty well. ZionSpartan is really such a beast though, glad to see him still dominating.
I can't figure out who to cheer for besides Coast.... thought I was going to cheer for TSM as well, but I may end up joining the C9 bandwagon, glad they pulled out the kennen, and their play just looked so solid both games. This split of lcs is awesome. I have a favorite player on each team (except tsm). Zionspartan soon to be the best top laner in NA imo. He plays so fucking hyphie
I agree wholeheartedly, I was trying to figure out what teams I wanted near the top and what near the bottom and I couldn't because there were people from each team that I like too much.
Also yeah no other NA toplaner can carry like Zion.

There were several times that Regi would hit the shockwave on three or four members of C9 but then the burst was gone and Ez couldn't do enough damage to finish off anyone. I feel like Cait or Trist or even a normal ADC build Ez that could stay back outside of Kennen ult range but has damage to finish off low enemies would have won a few of those teamfights.

I missed most of these games but I'm stoked VES beat CLG. Did Nien and jiji in the jungle play like shit?

Ah, I can definitely see that. Cris don't fuck around.

CLG vs VES came down to a bad trade on bot leading to getting double killed, and cris stomping all over nien. Really hard to win a teamfight when kennen ulti can get everybody inside to half or less, and while everybody is busy trying to get out of kennen ult, draven is slicing people in half.
|
Honestly, I thought the Sona ults were not good. 1st battle at river purple blue buff was really good ult. Battle at Baron I'm not sure the ult ever came, maybe on cd. When C9 took the mid mid turret, regi used it on just kennen.

I liked Meteos' hair today. Though it looks kinda weird when it's not on an Asian, why do Asians get all the cool hairstyles. Anyway, does anyone know what happened to the Quantic sponsor?

TSM killed meteos. Worth.
Wish TSM had won, but it's ok. I really feel like C9 and TSM are gonna be the top two NA teams and run away with it, similar to Fnatic and GG in EU LCS spring.
4-1 opening week, let's go!!

Great showing by the fresh blood today; bodes well for this round of the LCS. Haven't had a chance to watch the games yet, but loved the clip with the looped Doublelift "worst team in the LCS" quote mixed with a highlights reel of him getting blown up in lane by Draven, hue.

CLG just reacted wrong on VES going 2 mid, dlift started to freeze bot lane instead of trying to match the push, so obviously once their mid is down the pressure moves bot, for dragon and that tower. Well surprise, I don't think CLG even saw a single dragon whole game, VES took them all without contest. Nien being absolutely destroyed by Cris didn't help CLG either.

Just watched both VES vs CLG and C9 vs TSM. That was so bad from CLG, VES didn't even play well, that Dora facecheck into five member of CLG but some how they manage to miss every shit possible and lost the team fight -_-. That was beyond bad. C9 is very impressive, they are really the fresh air to NA and the most Asian-like team. The team co-ordination, the aggressive, the individual skill, its all there for C9.

C9 vs TSM was pretty impressive.
Though I have to say I also expected the new teams to do really well at the start because they probably practised more. The old teams know its the end of the season that counts and will use these first regular season games to practise.

6 games and 100% pick/ban for Kennen, Jayce, Thresh and Khazix. 5 out of 6 for Elise and Ryze.

Am I too negative if I think that clg will most likely finish 7/8th?
Like I would certainly bet 500$ that they don't qualify for worlds.
|
CLG looked pretty terrible. Missed smite by jiji early, Nien never knowing when to cast Vlad ult on top of dying twice in top lane, and Chauster missing a hook on a Dora the Explorer Vileroze near baron. If someone gifts you a kill, and you can't even secure that... holy crap.
Kind of hard for me to hate VES when CLG is still around. And ecco is now a sub for VES now, so that's cool.

Like I would certainly bet 500$ that they don't qualify for worlds. As a CLG fan, I can say that's entirely in the realm of possibility right now. They need to figure out what's wrong and act fast. Nien's Vlad pick is wonky, that's all I'm going to say. Luckily, MonteCristo has offered to talk to Nien about how to play Vlad and some other Top Lane champions and I hope to god Nien takes that offer. jiji is ok and I say ok with all mediocrity. He missed his Smite against Nk Inc and that's really not acceptable, that just wrecked his early game and he certainly didn't recover like SSJ Meteos. CLG shouldn't even think about Worlds right now, there's so much more to fix atm.
C9, they're the real deal and if CLG can't perform, these guys are my boys. Meteos is getting a ton of hype so I'll avoid talking about him for a little bit. Let's talk about Sneaky and how much this guy's improved in the past few months. On Dig B, he was literally a nobody. He didn't stand out and didn't look exceptional. Now with Lemon and C9, Sneaky's picks start to look more impressive. Jayce is by far Sneaky's personal signature ADC champion and he does it well. On Day 1, he's shown he can Draven with the best of them. Pay attention to this guy's positioning in lane and in team fights. He wrecked so far in team fight but no one noticed because of focking lightning rat stunning everyone.
Top Lanes, Zion and Cris, pretty good performances by both of them. It will and it has always come down to consistency. At League's infancy, each region had their respective role strengths. CN with ADCs, EU with Mid Lane, NA was, at one point, both Top and Jungler. Top quickly got toppled by Koreans and our Junglers really stagnated. But I think as this split continues, we can see a resurgence of strong Top Lanes again, and of course, Meteos. hue
