The thing is, Korean knowledge of the game is so much more refined that things that wouldn't be considered errors ARE major errors that can be exploited when playing vs Koreans.

This. There are just too many champs to ban for NA. They might be able to deal with all the threats if they had 6-8 bans, and then still it might be doubtful.

North America has a surprisingly competetent laning phase in a conventional setting (now defunct in Korea), but really struggles against the constant lane swaps and picking/understanding champions suited towards this new lane swap-heavy metagame Korea enjoys. It doesn't matter how strong they are, Korea will twist the lanes towards their advantage, then punish North America for every single mistake they make. It's not just about the mechanical skill difference (although it exists), Korea's metagame exploits the most obvious weak point in North American playstyle to a degree not equaled by any other regions. This is fantastic insight into the differences between how regions play, and not simply whether or not one region's better than the other in terms of mechanics.

Dyrus doesn't really play those types of champs, he's much more of a Shen/Malphite/Rumble, and occasionally Vlad. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like NA's prepared much vs KR. The Ryze+Diana second pick was just questionable, unless Dyrus could play Ryze well (almost no chance of that) and Scarra could get his comfort champ.
