However, very crisp from both teams so far, GG just a slight step behind. PS. WTF is this bias? Both foreign teams and GG gets such a higher cheer despite KT B's more innovative picks. Racism too strong =\. ... may be because koreans are never underdogs? brazilians get less cheer in soccer not cause of racism but because its much more fun when others win

Personally I thought GG was the slightly stronger team coming into this since KT B's been together for like two month and GG is established. I actually really like Russian teams since I'm a pretty huge slavophile in general (at one point i was more or less majoring in Russian history and planning to teach in Russia for a year or so). I just find the racial bias really hard to root for them in this particular instance.

They stomped the group stage and had a good chance to make the finals but they just played like shit against Najin Sword.

Korea is the Silicon valley of e-sports. its a tiny country with a lot of people. so even though they are not more talented by any measure they have much more talent concentration. and the experience from BW cant be undersold, knowing HOW to practice and having 10 teams within a driving distance is amazing. Gambit is effectively alone in RUssia and are forced to practice on others people schedule many times from Korean and wester Europe (they complained about it in interview)

They went 6-1 to qualify for MLG, beating out MVP, Najin Shield, and KT A.

For sure, getting inSec was a huge pick-up for them. Not sure exactly where they fall but easily one of the best teams atm. unless gambit makes a huge mistake, I think that merc treads buy by MF sealed their loss. GG takes this game, thats way too much money to spend on zero damage for a protect team

In addition, Russian work ethic is very similar to Asian work ethics due to cultural and historical reasons. Anyway, I think this is a great game cause both are impressive teams. I have a ton of respect for Russian players because I think they take whatever they apply too much more seriously than NA/EU scenes.
