I am sorry for Alternate, but glad that Araneae wont be in season 3. He just doesnt belong there.

one might say it the group distribution by riot was awful, looking at the teams in group A compared to the ones in C.(not to mention group D with 3 teams)

Well when team solo medbi have 3 of their players banned just before the tournament there's nothing you can do about it (Thank fuck as well if darkwilljax played in season three I would cry).

Its not throw from ATN, they aim for a early game comp. But after a good start they start to baron dacing which is bad...should just keep pusing and keep Fnatic in their base and wear them down. Also the Urgot pick was really random and did almost nothing.

Alternate had a really interesting strategy - a very strong midgame/kog shutdown gameplan - but they needed to carve out a definitive advantage before Kog got rolling - once he got that qss and some items; Kog could just massacre Alternate. They will be kicking themselves for managing to lose 3(!) dragons when they had full control of fnatics jungle; really those dragons kept fnatic in the game.

fnatic again showed some really bad opening strategies; they put themselves behind the 8 ball very early which is really bad when you are playing a late game focused team.

However what fnatic did do well is they completely allocated all farm to the 3 carries - Kog, Kass, Nid which meant Cyanide basically never farmed; thankfully Nunu has utility without any items.

fnatic's skill and teamwork shined in the end; but there are some real weaknesses developing that other teams should be able to exploit

Honestly, I don't even feel like aTn really threw that game. They could never decisively win a teamfight vs. Fnatic - it's just that thanks to cait's range and urgot's presence, they could take out turrets despite that. When you're ahead 6 turrets but you can't widen your gold lead above 3k, you're actually already starting to lose the game. Fnatic did a great job stalling for Kog to get the essentials (damage + QSS)
