He was pretty much dead from Ryze+Nocturne under tower, but he got out with like 10-20hp and killed Nocturne. I think they screwed up and thought he would die from ignite and didn't finish him off. Pretty bad from WE.

Ryze forced Ori back so Chogath came to hold lane. Nocturne and Ryze dive him and Chogath survived from his passive procing on the Nocturne kill from a blind rupture. Definitely the most exciting thing to happen in the past two hours.

He stood in while Ori was b. Nocturne and Ryze dived him under tower. Nocturne ran to the left of mid tower with 1% health, Snoopeh had 1% health himself. Snoopeh flashed over the wall and killed Nocturne before he could react and that way got a kill and escaped Ryze at the same time.

Hey I'm still new to watching LoL at a high level, can someone explain the strength of nocturne to me? Is he completely reliant upon assassinating people? I really didnt see him pay off as a pick last game.

He is quite good during the mid game, but his effectiveness rapidly deteriorates in the late game.

Semi-global ultimate allows him to apply map control and gank from long-distance.
At the stage of the game where teams group up to teamfight, this advantage weakens in usefulness significantly.

With his Ultimate he removes all vision (except for the area around the individual players) and then can fly in a big radius, ganking people from extremely far away and everyone in the enemy team panics because they can't see the other players, so they don't know what's happening outside of their own vision.
