Eve is a pretty good pick against Gragas though.
He can't punish her early like most mids can, with her massive MS boost, she can dodge his ult/barrels all day. Alex Ich just outplayed Shushei pretty hard.

Does anyone else think that was a very dissapointing match and ELOhell was almost being disrepectful for doing those "troll" picks? It's one thing to pick unconventionally to surprise the opponents, or even just to entertain, but this game achieved neither. It was just a stomp and not at all the level I expected from a reginals game.

Kikis did not lose TO Yorick.
He lost to m5 waltzing whrough their jungle without being contested and got picked off between/under his turrets.

You could even see, that if Gragas wasn't so massively ahead from picking up kills top and bottom and already had pretty big MR, that Eve could have killed him a few of those times. Instead, he ran out of mana before gragas died, because he was THAT far ahead.

Eve wasn't the problem. Nunu wasn't either. Nautilus accomplished very little, got counterjungled a lot. Bot lane was getting beaten pretty badly already when they were picking an aggressive pick (Leona Corki vs Sona Ezreal) which wants to all-in, and diamond comes in with a well-timed countergank and killed bot lane so hard that the rest of the game might as well have been 3v5. When he came in with that gank, leona was under 300 health already, corki was at like 400.

M5 was just playing better in every way.

I honestly want to see nunu top vs yorick in a game where the skill disparity between teams ISN'T gargantuan. It works so well, provides powerful utility while having potential to shut down yorick (imagine if yorick being pushed that far meant gank opportunities opened up rather than just towerdiving nunu repeatedly because nautilus was 0 threat?)

They weren't troll picks at all. Nunu top has been proclaimed here as the next FOTM and incredibly strong and Eve, whilst unconventional, has been picked very sucessfully by Shushei before (they took out SK with it).

Truth is just that M5 is miles ahead of most teams. Like, maybe 2/3 teams in every region can compete with them.

That guy picked M5 against EloHell and won a T-shirt... damn he must be a genius to pick M5... I never thought they might win.

For what it's worth, I tested Eve sololane with RiotNome before. It's surprisingly powerful. Unfortunately, Alex Ich is just on a completely different level from Shushei.

EloHell had a lot of balls to try something like that against Moscow5. To be fair, when you're forced to play the S-Tier of Europe you may as well try the craziest thing possible because you're pretty much going to lose if you play standard anyway.

y, as I said, I think Elohells picks were really smart across the board. m5 just outclasses them too much to lose because of fickle things like matchups.

Nunu top and eve mid have worked for ELOhell before, it's just that M5 are M5 and regardless of what happens you're going to die for most teams.
