Any tournament with a loser's bracket should do this. It isn't fair that the people that haven't lost a set yet,, if they lose one, is out of the tournament. They deserve the same chance as the people in the loser's bracket got and that is to lose two sets and then be out of the tournament.
Please don't confuse extended series and double elimination. It's really not correct at all. THIS is double elimination. Some of your wording seems like it's extended series. It is not. If you want to make it easier to understand, just think of each team having 2 global lives in their queue. TSM had 2, and CLG is on their last one. TSM is now down to their last life of the tournament as well.

CLG is so scary now that we see DL can play kog.

I think Voyboy would never play some of the champs that Hazzard does (e.g. Yorick, Malphite) which arguably let them win games they might not have otherwise won with more "standard" Voyboy picks. I guess we'll never know who would have done better anyways.
Voy plays Malphite. Nidalee and Yorick, not so much.

Whatever HSGG agreed to give Hazzard for playing for them

CLG have been performing admirably, but I wonder if fatigue takes its toll at some point. CLG have already played 10 games today, whereas TSM have played 5.

If you read the quote that I quoted, "Voyboy told xHazzard how to play Malphite and told him to play lots of Malphite at MLG."
Voyboy plays literally every top laner. He's like the only NA top that has a huge champion pool. Although Dyrus might have a big champ pool now, but I know for a fact that there isn't any top lane champion that Voyboy can't play. Shit, the guy plays top lane Graves from time to time in solo queue.

Agree on the Yorick though but he's been told to learn that. And Voyboy also considers Lulu one of his top three champions, so there's always superheals as a backup plan.

Double elimination is a normal format. I find this complaint odd.

I believe something similar happened in IPL(I think), where CLG won the first set, but got demolished the second. Granted, it's not all fatigue, but it probably played a part in how terribly they did in the second set.

without extended series TSM has already won since everyone has been knocked out already. However, yes dumb extended series "saving" them ;P.

Haven't seen much malphite from voy (but he can probably play him) but I know for sure he despises playing Yorick.

Regardless, it's pretty pointless to speculate how Voyboy would have done in this tournament. So many variables you have to account for that it's not even about who is the better top laner on paper.

This is NORMAL format. There is nothing dumb or unfair about it.
I don't understand what you can be missing here. If you are saying TSM should be out because they just lost, then CLG should have been eliminated a few rounds ago as they have already lost a BO3.

Teams are also more "resistant" to cheese elimination by random underdogs. There's nothing wrong with double elimination, and every major LoL LAN that wants to be Season Championship accredited has to do double elimination. Dunno why you're angry about it.

Without double elimination TSM would have already won, and CLG would have already lost.

He has the largest champ pool of any player (top lane or not), but he does not play every top lane champ competitively or even pseudo frequently.
