I remember Hotshot mentioning that he might be going to commentate and he sounded as if it was likely although not 100% certain. It'd be kind of cool to see him commentate some games with Phreak or Rivington. He's streaming right now so I doubt he's in Providence. He could have meant that he was going to commentate over the MLG stream, but that could get him into some trouble.

This gives TSM a good chance to get to the winners finals. A good chance...laugh. Unless Reflex has been practicing like madmen so they don't get walked all over and even then I'm not sure you can improve that much that quickly ^_^ Dignitas and Reflex weren't at Raleigh so I suspect they just flipped a coin to decide which got the higher seed. That's how they decide seeds for their sc2 event when people are tied or haven't played at an event yet at least.

Edit: Watching Scarra's interview, they reseeded, told EG they were playing Reflex, then reseeded again and gave Reflex some of CLG's seed points so they became 3rd seed instead of Dignitas. That might be the most retarded seeding decision I have ever heard.

EG was the 2 seed(CLG was 1) in the qualifier so there's no way a remade bracket should result in them playing Dignitas or TSM. Not remaking the bracket means Dignitas plays RFLX. TSM is the only team there that has no logical reason to get the free win first round. How is that a fuck up? CLG got disqualified so unless you give Reflex their #1 seed which they don't deserve in the first place it's perfectly logical what happened. EG #1 TSM #2 Reflex and Dignitas weren't at MLG Raleigh so they got seeded randomly as #3 and #4 (we can only guess this, but it's consistent with the sc2 portion of MLG) Reflex #3 Dignitas #4 At least we get a Cinderella story when Dignitas takes the whole thing ^_^ EDIT: If that is true I think MLG fucked up, although it makes more sense than their extended series non sense that I already explained ^_^

He said that there was a chance that Riot was going to fly him down there for commentate with Phreak/Rivington but I guess they decided not to or else he didn't want to.

Carry over the qualifier bracket. This results in Reflex vs Dignitas, and TSM vs EG 2. Create a new bracket, based on seeds. EG and TSM are #1 and #2 respectively. Dignitas was seeded 5th in the qualifier(the highest seed team that wasn't at Raleigh) and Reflex was some seed outside of the top 8. Any logical reseeding should be based on these qualifier seeds and result in EG vs Reflex and TSM vs Dignitas. According to Scarra's interview, MLG initially chose option 1. Next, they switched to option 2. They then decided that Reflex should get credit for some of CLG's points. This resulted in Reflex becoming a higher seed than Dignitas, causing the match-ups we have right now. I would be fine with Dignitas or EG getting the free win. Continuing from the qualifier bracket or reseeding based on qualifier seeds are both perfectly logical options. Re-reseeding so the 2nd seed gets the easiest match first round can not be described as anything other than illogical and a fuck-up. On the bright side, we're guaranteed an IPL finals re-match.

Who did Dignitas play in the last round to qualify? As the #5 seed they should have played the #4 seed, but I don't remember who was at MLG Raleigh besides Dignitas not being there ^_^ So I'm guessing they beat Curse after looking at the teams. I couldn't find the results from the MLG website, but it sounds right. Did Dignitas get some of Curse's "seed points" from beating them or take their seed entirely? Is becoming the 3rd/4th seed higher than taking a part of the #1 seed? MLG rules are just great entertainment in general. On November 19 2011 15:16 overt wrote: Hmm, this tournament and how the extended series setup that MLG uses pretty much reinforces why I don't think double elimination is a very good idea for LoL tournaments. Games just take too long and traditional double elimination would make the finals too long while a modified version of it can potentially make the finals really disappointing. Knowing that the finals match could end up as either a single game or potentially seven games is kind of ridiculous. It's only one less match in the absolute stupidest situation possible. The biggest error of it is if the teams haven't met before the grand finals in which case you get extra games to watch, but screw over the winner's bracket winner ^_^ I think my analysis of it was at the bottom of the first page if you're confused about the system.

Either they beat (and by beat we mean got destroyed, but got the walkover DQ) them and become the #1 seed or you just carry over seeding from MLG Raleigh. They didn't even take a game off of them ^_^ I could understand it a little better if it was 2-1 and then they got the walkover because of the DQ, but this is just ridiculous. Maybe the MLG rules next season will be better since league will actually be on the circuit hopefully. Who did Dignitas play in the last round to qualify?
