When's the last time a western player retired while still being LCS level? Like, a lot of people say that "oh, Xpecial will definitely retire soon, Doublelift is playing his last split, Yellowstar just wanted to help the org before retiring", but last time I remember lot of people retiring while still arguably OK was S3/early S4. Right now people mostly retire after losing the LCS spot or when they are clearly underperforming and need to get replaced.

Well, lol, Link, Hai and Saint just retired.
Creaton, Imaqtpie probs come to mind, Kerp will probably continue later.
But outside of that, yep, pretty much.
Thing is that legit LCS tier pool is shallow, so you mainly don't see rookies and just recycling of old faces. while rookies are trying to prove themselves in challenger scene before getting roflstomped by LCS squads.

I mean half of XDG retired and other half is irrelevant, most of Millenium retired or is irrelevant and thus made way for rookies etc. but like I said those were relegated. Hai and Link, eh don't want to touch that, Saint is a fair example I suppose.

Among the whole buying of spots and everything, I'm glad Heart and Eimy survived. Especially Eimy... Finally freed from LSPL!!!!!! :D Honestly, this was the one of nicest bit of news I've heard this transfer season.
Think the SHRC boss has finally gone crazy, but I've thought that for a while so *shrug*. I guess it will be fun to play LoL fantasy league for him.
