This is just to help smooth over the visa process, maybe? It hurts me to say it, but I don't think he's better than Cali by a long shot.

They might be looking more on him replacing Slooshi, to be honest. Alex can play both top and mid well, and Cali just seems like the core of the team.

I would say this makes it pretty much a certainty that Alex plays in NALCS this season. I personally don't think that T8 are going to take the LCS by storm, ala c9, and after a few weeks of getting pushed around by more experienced teams in LCS, the cries for Alex to start will be impossible to ignore.

This will be another interesting storyline to follow this season, I mean, can you imagine if Alex hard-carried a game in NALCS? The salt would be real.

Visa helps seems the most reasonable to me. Also maybe Team8 just didn't know who to sign as subs (and Riot requires teams to have at least two) so decided to get someone famous.

Seems like it could be good be good for all parties involved. AlexIch gets help getting his visa, Team8 gets extra recognition and a possible upgrade if they decide to play him middle.

I guess potentially it's a good pickup as well if Cali decides to go to Pharmacy school.

Slooshi isn't something impressive tbh.
Alex was okayish in Starladder, but God damn, Starladder competition is nothing to him.

If he wants to start hes going to end up starting. It really depends on his motivations at this point in his career, this is all gravy for him now in terms of his legacy in the game

As a fan I just want to see him play, if he makes a bottom tier team more competitive all the better then

He is only the sub for the team so he can get a visa. He is also on that challenger team with Shorterace. He has also expressed many desires to get out of Russia so this is a long term goal so he can be permanent citizen in America and out of Russia.

This thread is terribly confusing to me. Why do people see this as something negative? So far we believed (and I still believe) that he will play on Brawl in NA challenger, and now when people think there is a chance he plays on an LCS team that is bad?

Sadly this is probably just about getting a visa though. Since when do subs mean anything?

Still I am really happy for Alex that he is getting this chance in NA, I thought his career was completely over. If Brawl does not work out he also might try out for other challenger teams once he got his visa.

Alex Ich formerly played as a top/mid for Ninjas in Pyjamas, and most recently played mid for Gambit Gaming.

I do think Slooshi is the most consistent player on the team however, it is more likely they'll need a sub for top

I find it sad that no one in the EU scene was willing to give him a chance. He is still a great player, regardless of his performance in a few games of the Challenger series. He has played against almost any notable mid in the world and did well, something like that doesn't fade from one day to another.
