Most of the community still thinks of Alex Ich as being the S2 legend. I'm not sure if it will put pressure on Slooshi, but you can be sure the minute he has a bad game, all the Alex fans will be calling for Slooshi's replacement. This may be even worse than Gleeb and Amazing replacing Xpecial and TOO.
Plus, few people have any faith in T8 and there is like 0 hype for Slooshi. People expect him to fail, even though he kinda dumped on Keane in the NACS playoffs.

Keane at NACS playoffs was playing only Orianna literally, in Promotions against CLG he was playing Orianna and pony and now he can play Zed, Kassadin and Xerath. When Keane learns LeBlanc, he has everything to be top-3 in LCS.

I'm not sold on Keane yet and don't think he'll be anywhere close to top 3. He showed a bigger champion pool in the expansion tournament but he was also against lesser opponents. He was still outperformed by Huhi and I don't think beating GoldenGlue/Gate/Jesiz is much to write home about.

Neither am I. But he's way better than he was before, and considering average level of NA mids, he is top-5 by default pretty much.

Just because he showed promise doesn't mean he will be top-5 instantly.. He has good mechanics but that doesn't mean anything in the league. We just have to wait and see what kind of consistency and plays he can bring to the LCS.

Bjergsen XWX, Pobelter
Link, Hai, Shiphtur Slooshi, Jesiz
Then you have Fenix and Keane, with former being complete dark horse and Keane being in Link-tier. That's pretty much as close to top-5 as you can get.

Bjergsen - XWX - POB - Hai - Link/Shiptur
This is my top5, and I dont see Keane breaking this tier unless he really carries Gravity some games, which we didn't see much of that in the Expansion Tournament. He's solid but not that amazing (yet).

Sad to see Alex Ich go, bo many of you forget that a lot of teams ain't triying to bring Alex Ich and his hole family because most organizations just give visa's to the player.
I hope Team 8 is giving Alex Ich and his family a place to stay in California, that way he can be more focus in training and playing so the legend rises up again.
And yeah i agree theres gonna be a lot of pressure for Slooshi, but no one can't denie Alex Ich experience which is something that matters a lot. Being 2 times in the EU LCS finals, 1 time semifinalist and other 1 quaterfinal at worlds, hundreds or profesional games played, IEM world championship. Is something no one in NA has.
Best of luck Alex Ich, he gave us the Gambit Gaming (ex-Moscow 5) sweet memories and hope he does the same in Team 8.
Hell i will even root for them in the LCS if he starts playing.

And this will probably stay for a long time. Thank god you're from Germany, otherwise people would be pissed! What does that prove? I am from Germany as well and think only C9 is better than most EU teams, and that EU teams are more skilled on average and have the higher peaks.
Yeah that's why all EU teams made it out of group stages and won vs kabum.

wow he joined na cs team his fall from being top 3 mid in eu of all time to irrelevant atm , so sad for alex , wish him all the best

so i don't get it
Alex Ich joined Brawl as starting midlaner and in the same time he is Team 8 sub?

It was really problematic for Russian players to get anywhere in Europe due to strict visa/citizenship laws. The esports athlete rule in America seems to be an easier route for a professional player if you want to get out of the terrible scheduling difficulties that arise because you happen to be from Russia.

Wait. How can Alex Ich be a sub for Team i while simultaneously play for a challenger team? I thought you can't do that in S5?

Flaresz and Thinkcard are CLG challenger team players and subs for Winterfox, so it's ok. You can't be LCS team starter during CS qualies, that's it.

Like it was said before in this thread:
He joined T8 as a sub because Challenger players can't get work visas in the US, you have to be in the LCS. So this way he can play for Brawl while just being a sub for T8.

Shiptur is easily the best mid EU/NA. Bjergsen is overrated, he is good, but not best.
