Alright, we're going to call it a day with all the Thorin drama, guys. I figured if it was about SI, onGamers, TSM, etc, it had some relevance to League but somehow you guys managed to devolve the discussion into an issue about race of all things.
Enough is enough. Let's move along now.

Any advice that involves pre-emptively muting your entire team is probably bad. Especially this advice.

I've had a few guys recently start the game with something along the lines of "btw I'll mute you all, don't take it badly but I can't bother with people flaming so I mute to focus on playing" then down the line respond to something someone said, not directed at them. Eh.

I do jungle like that. But I don't mute my entire team.
Generally speaking I only go gank when I know I got 99% chance of getting the kill.

if you only base your gank decisions on that you'll do a ton of mistakes. easily predictable kill success are sometimes bad ganking situations. especially if you risk your laners life. also there are obvious kills where your laner is pushed with 2 stacked up creepwaves. if you gank at this situation, you often don't gain anything, because your laner is losing 2 creepwaves worth of CS, and if he doesn't get the kill then you actually set him behind. worst case is one of you die but you get the kill.
then there are situations where you should gank but you have a low chance of killing, often if you can force a flash in a lane that is allready enough to force defensive laneing behaviour for at least a while, and you force them to invest in wards. for example by revisiting aggressive laners a couple times you set them off in their aggressive game plan. experienced laners will tone their aggression down if you show up in hairy situations. this has a neutralizing effect and only consts you half a minute per attempt. its not like you can constantly farm anyways.

Sufficiency's way of jungling is fine
|
yea I feel like a lot of high elo junglers just do their own thing most of the time

It is just that I am conservative when it comes to ganking. I don't show up unless I have reasonable belief that I can execute a successful gank or dive.
It is a low risk low reward playstyle. I don't think it is a terrible playstyle if you can execute correctly when the opportunity is there.
Of course it is also champion dependent.

Pretty much. Which is why I have to mute my tteam sometimes =/
There are cases which I straight up lose the game because my laners go 0-8 before 6th minute because the opposing jungler ganked like a boss while I wasn't able to do much. I don't deny that this happens sometimes. But honestly I feel if there is so much discrepancy on the laners I will lose the game regardless.

That happens regardless of whether you try to gank for purposes other than getting like getting kills (like flash etc.) Chances are the enemy jungler had a lot better opportunities to gank because your laners played badly. Not always the case, but it very oftentimes is.
