I think people are inclined to take them seriously when their org has stomped in competition. Though I've always thought their name and acronym had a fun play on words. Ninjas being a Japanese cultural icon, and 'nip' being a slight derogatory term for Japanese.
I feel like slight is a bit.. off, nip is easily as offensive as gook/dink or anything like that tbh.

if anyone remembers the game gunz, that was a fad back then and people would actually pay to get these "original" names. I remember selling the name "Focal" and "Aqua" for like 10-20$ each. -_-

Accounts that are two random words followed by a two digit number are probably bot-levelled accounts being sold. Stuff like DemonLucky88, FishSkinny76, etc. You can see them all the time in low-level dominion games.
