To be fair, the Zac was pulling off some EXTREMELY inventive ganks that bypassed my warding (backing just in the range of sight at the edge of a bush, and cancelling it to go in the bush at the very last second after two previous ganks, ganking from our jungle [as blue], multiple lane bush ganks with impeccable timing, etc), so I can't even be mad at him for his absurd amount of camping. But I do need to find a more reliable way of dealing with Jax then banking on outplaying him with Irelia (while dodging jungle ganks).
Also, top is probably a better lane for Ryze now.
Soraka. You will never get ganked because your turnarounds are too powerful

Unfortunately, I do not drive a Chevrolet Movie Theatre. I could pick him up, but I prefer my top lane champions to have a late game. Well, that and I haven't even touched him yet.  It's possible, though putting in the time to learn it would go for later, after I break into De Beers' vaults (sometime this week I'd imagine). Any other suggestions? Also, top is probably a better lane for Ryze now. Irelia-Jax is a skill matchup (aka jungler matchup). Renekton is good vs. Jax though. Well aware of that (though it does favor Jax, ~6-4 or so). Absent jungle pressure, I can beat Jax solely based on my matchup knowledge and familiarity with Irelia. The issue is that I've had several games of Irelia where the enemy jungler focuses on top, while my jungler doesn't even come up except to push out (into enemy laner freezes). I'm normally fine with this because I can come back from it once I get my items and carry (most recently against a Renekton and Kennen), but when Jax snowballs against Irelia, it's stupidly lopsided, and I can't outplay that or hit any major breakpoints out of the early game that allows me to regain control of the lane if he gets early jungle babysit. Maybe I just need to stop playing top on the blue side. I've had an alarming amount of junglers when I'm on blue side starting blue.
Irelia vs. Jax is probably one of the most snowbally lanes (especially if EXP is denied). Obviously you know that. Renekton, Singed, and Malph are all decent against Jax in my experience. Lots of people don't know how to play the last 2 vs Jax though...

I'd also recommend either Singed or Renekton. Both are fine first picks if you can play them well and they both have favourable matchups vs Jax.

I've stopped playing solo tops that don't have a ready escape mechanism, in part due to how aggressive I usually am, opening myself up to ganks. I also don't buy wards, so there's that.
Aatrox, Renekton and Ezreal are all pretty cool. Barrier/Ignite Renekton is a personal favourite. Nidalee doesn't have an escape mechanism, but W is really anti-gank a lot of the time.

Sooo... That went terribly. I was unable to trade properly with Olaf, let alone harass him - if I did, he would basically hit back with E and outsustain me with that crazy lifesteal he has. I rushed Sunfire, still did not help. Any other ideas for that matchup?

Flask. As a Riven main, Nasus was one of the easiest matchups I had. With the advent of flask, taking advantage of his weak early game has gotten far more difficult.
Either that or I got super bad at the matchup.

Yeah, his burst is still outrageous. I'd classify it as Taric level outrageous.

People are starting to figure him out a bit though. It's not 100% free win anymore

I know I hate facing Riven, Darius, Renekton, Singed whenever I play Jax.

Watched Azingy with Blue Buff, 500 HP, 200 mana and spectral Wraith spam Q on drake, soloing it at level 7. He spellvamp'd like 100 HP per Q (maybe he had a pot running at the same time), and he did it so fast considered he was solo... x_o
