Was it just some unlucky/onesided games? Yep. Unless your MMR&uncertainty are far above the promotion threshold to begin with(generally only happens with smurfs), you'll be clamped in div 1. Somebody told me a fact though, you win more points on purple side. Don't ask me why, it's one of the nuances of ladder that I don't know or understand, because purple side is higher MMR on average(in promos, 2 of my games were literally plat1/d5 vs d3/d4, didn't win those) | ||

edit: oh whoops I misread, I thought you didn't know why there was a MMR difference, not why purple gets more points (I had no idea that happens) | ||

Got to Plat promos twice before I started getting clamped (went 0-3 both times, first time I won the next 3 games straight to promo again, second time I lost the next game then won 3, and I was getting 6 points a win rather than 20+, no idea if it's related). Considering the sharp drop evey promo my guess is that's also related to Elo in a way... though on the other hand I stayed clamped in Silver I even after my effective Elo was something like Gold II-III. | ||

But if you want to go for lols (and free wins vs any non-tanky champion), go 30/0/0 Fizz and start red+blue pot. It's pretty rediculous, fun and make for short games. ^^ | ||
