I wouldn't be able to tell, I pretty much started it because I wanted a game advertised as "porn" to compare it to stuff like Air, Fate, etc. whose anime adaptation made me wonder why the original material was classified hentai to begin with (as in "it's just a legit game with superfluous sex scenes in it, is that their definition?") and if the quality's standard or those were "gems" amongst a sea of trash games. So I started it without expectations, which is probably a big part in why I liked it. If somebody told me "play it it's so goood" I'd have been disappointed. But if you approach it expecting "it's classified as a porn game so it's probably the hentai equivalent of a blockbuster wrt plot and stuff" I found it pretty decent. A bunch of tropes played straight, then averted, then parodied in more or less subtle ways, a protagonist who isn't respected by anyone (getting trashtalked by Ilias was an incentive for me to lose every fight until it became a bit repetitive :<) 'cept the peons, and aside from the pretty classic "overcome the differences" theme, some (like terrorism, which gets bonus points for surprise when it pops in your face out of nowhere) are treated pretty well I thought. The musics are good too, but since they're (at least partly, dunno exactly) coming from a free bank you can't really attribute them to the game itself. All-in-all, it's not exceptional, but considering how it's marketed it's pretty good, and it raised a bunch of flags in how it handled tropes and cliches for a TVTrope terminally infected like me. The character development seems pretty much complete after part 2 though, so I think I'll mostly do part 3 out of curiosity about the plot's progression and how the main characters will evolve during it. Skyler: 't'was a bait, not my fault if you bit! Considering the guy's changed so much over the course of a year or two and went as far as to tell her he's a boss who's got the power and the will to kill people after he already told her twice that there were people out to kill him, and possibly his family, I'd kinda get upset and wonder about the extent of how he's changed and how much I still have to discover, maybe even first hand.  | ||
