TL won't accept LoL, I've come to accept this.

DotA 2 didn't get official recognition from TL until after 1 poorly run lump sum valve event and maybe dream hack once or twice a year. I think we can stand to be more patient, popularity notwithstanding. Its not like riot has been handing out 5 million a year for 2 years and lol is more watched then MLB baseball in america and has a player base that makes WOW shake in its boots.

I totally agree.

Pretty much the second they had a "kind of" big event, TL admins jumped on it. League had already been big for an extended period. It's pretty much 100% a result of their personal bias.

Don't expect anything.

In the end Teamliquid is run by its staff and nothing else. It does what it wants and makes it work when it does what it wants.

LOL. Cool edits.

DotA 2 is a port of DotA. Meaning that the game has been around for a long time. Also, calling TI2 poorly run is incredibly misinformed, especially in comparison to S2 LoL Worlds, which had far larger issues.

I'm sorry you're so hurt by this, but I think TL deserves a little more consideration than what you're doling out.

They made dota 2 a full time part of the site right before TI2. Sorry if you have your calender wrong but even if we were s2 worlds blows TI2 out of the water in every possible way to judge the events. S2 worlds had one bad day out of the 3 it did leading up to the greatest finals we've ever seen. TI2 and TI3 are done in an auditorium with only a few thousand seats, s2 worlds was done in USC's basketball stadium. S2 worlds had live qualifiers that rocked the entire world over a period of months, TI2 invited a bunch of teams and then had an online qualifier for the last 2.

The scaling of the events where a bit different.

I dunno how big he is in SC2 anymore 'cause I don't follow that scene at all but in early S2 NonY played a lot of LoL. Got his account to 30 and played ranked. Got to like 1500ish Elo I believe? I think he mained Vayne for awhile and he even posted rather often in the TL LoL sub-forum.

From what I recall, I thought Nony got a lot higher than 1500. I have no idea of my source for that though sadly. I believe he enjoyed LoL, so I see no reason why he wouldn't be playing it now. I haven't seen a post from Nony on this forum for a while though. Maybe someone can ask him on twitter if he still plays/enjoys LoL?

I watch a little bit. I haven't played in a while and don't have any interest in playing atm.

I can't tell if you are joking or not. Using phrases like "rocked the entire world" says you are either a huge fanboy or are being sarcastic. Both events had their problems but they are comparable. S2 in the outside arena was rather lackluster and terribly conducted. In the arena it was pretty dam amazing. TI2 had a closer feel and an extended group stage which could be akin to the qualifiers held. They had a panel which ESL has since introduced to LCS and some other events do similar. Either way they were both awesome.

I like the way LoL is on TL right now. Keeps the community small and friendly. LoL is big enough that it doesn't need TL to accept it to prove anything. It's already been proven. As is, the small LoL presence on TL just gives a certain flavor of LoL player (I'd like to think more mature with gaming roots in strategy games/competitive gaming) a friendly community to be part of.

I'm not too worried about not being accepted more largely on TL, there's always been an elitist SC bias against LoL and in favor of Dota 2. LoL is just too "casual" and "easy" for many SC players to accept (funny, as so many of us were strong SC/SC2 players I'm sure - I know I was a top masters P who could beat 95% of the 'elite' SC2 players who lawl at LoL).

Hi Nony! You still lurk here? Hope you come back to playing LoL at least casually sometime, you seemed to enjoy it when I saw you playing.

Let me state first and foremost that the writing staff do what we do because we love to write about LoL. That said, the more recognition the better. We put a lot of hard work into our recaps and having to play Reddit Roulette every time we want to try and get one of our articles recognized is super shitty. Our work is front page quality on every other website, I welcome a world where the TL higher ups let us publish it on their front page.

Yeah I like the smaller subforum too - topics move at a reasonable pace and there are visible regulars whose input you can trust. There are so many LoL websites out there already writing articles and covering tournaments that I don't think TL will amount to more than a drop in an ocean by officially picking it up. Plus if TL LoL becomes too popular we can't feel like hipsters anymore when Yango theorycrafts out that locket OP or everyone agrees that a certain undiscovered champion is strong.

That's a good point and I hadn't thought enough about it. You LoL writers do incredible work for nothing and you/the work don't get near the recognition or views you deserve for it. I'm sorry about that

Well if they pick it up then the articles go on the front page. That's a lot more exposure for the guys involved and the scene. If these guys weren't so devoted to the game I would have no idea why they would write since they seem to go so under-appreciated. Guess TL has become a lot more about politics these days then they once were.

What ever happened to the final edits section where good articles were put and displayed. Don't see why TL has to "officially pick up a game" in order for content to be displayed and appreciated.

edit: The more I think about it the more I wonder why you guys even do anything on this site lol.

LoLreplay whyyyyyyyyyyy.

I updated you and now you only record in shitty non-spectator mode.

Why can't somebody else/Riot make their own non crappy version? I mean props to LoL recorder for stepping up to the plate but jesus those guys suck at maintaining their program.

Yeah that's true, the writers on TL LoL deliver top-notch stuff for basically nothing. Did TL officially picking up DotA2 mean salarying the DotA2 writers?

LoLreplay whyyyyyyyyyyy.

I updated you and now you only record in shitty non-spectator mode.

Why can't somebody else/Riot make their own non crappy version? I mean props to LoL recorder for stepping up to the plate but jesus those guys suck at maintaining their program.

There's a replay system on the PBE, or at least it was up for awhile. I'm surprised they haven't pushed it out yet
