For example i bought alex ich for 22, so when he eventually goes up to 30 cause he is a beast, will i have to swap? Alex Ich overrated in this imo. Look at his competition. EU mids are the best in the world, he has to compete against Froggen, xPeke, etc etc. I dunno, considering the scoring is based on CS (alex ich always posts great numbers here) and KDA (again) I think Alex is pretty solid. Sadly, there's no long-term reward for identifying under-priced players past the current week - you always have to keep your roster at the $100 mark.
thats a shame, so after a few weeks you basically bet on who is winning the next game instead of identifying good players before they perfrom in the LCS.

Well, I am seeing that nobody has posted a team whatsoever. So I'll post mine first.
ADC - Doublelift (28$): Seeing that KDA and CS are the scoring factors, I decided that money shouldn't be a deciding factor, it's just that I have to select the biggest name out of the available ones. Doublelift and DontMashMe clearly stand out. Out of these two 28$ players, I took Doublelift over DontMashMe because DontMashMe's team has a good few sub-20$ players that can bring him down.
Mid - Shiphtur (17$): His play in the qualifiers was pretty impressive and now I see him at 17$. I literally jumped on that offer because of a few factors: - His champ pool is wide (in fact, he drew quite a number of Ziggs bans in the qualifiers) - He's too cost efficient - Even if he fails, DontMashMe can carry the team (this is also one of the reasons why I picked Doublelift over DontMashMe)
Top - HotshotGG (21$): Hotshot Motherfucking Jaw Dropping Pussy Ripping GG at 21$. We all know what kind of a monster he is when he decides to take it serious. Also, even if he fails, he can get carried by Doublelift, Aphromoo, L1NK (all of which are 28$ players) and blah blah blah.
Jungle - NintendudeX (17$): Because I need to pay for my CLG players, I need to cut from some other roles, who can't get much cs, namely jungle and support. I put NintendudeX here because: - He's the best jungler among sub-20$ players - He gets much more CS than other junglers. - DontMashMe is OP.
Support - Xpecial (17$): Up to now, I remained with 17$ for support. Xpecial and Elementz stood out for the price range and stuff. So I took Xpecial.

Thanks, sorry about that.

Well this would be mine at the moment.
AD Carry: YellOwStaR $17 Support: nRated $15 Top: Wickd $22 Mid: xPeke $21 Jungle: DiamondProx $24
But yeah I realize the Fnatic players are way too cheap at the moment.

2xLift because. Voyboy has been playing amazingly recently. nRated and nyjacky are both very solid, and I'm a Wolves fanboi so I'll keep Svenskeren until I can switch nyjacky out for my boy Bjergsen.

Some things I'd love to see (and I'm going to email them as such) Ordered by which I think is most important.
- Reward people for finding under-rated talent and including it on their teams. (For reference, The TL BW & SC2 Fantasy Pro League lets you trade players but it costs 1 point/dollar to do so - so if I picked nRated this week and he rose to $20, next week I could trade him away for a $19 player). Or, barring that, at least let us keep the same team from one week to the next if the players perform well and rise in value, and only enforce the $100 limit if people are changing their lineups. Being FORCED to change your lineup because they performed well sucks.
- Give players points for winning the game (which is often as much of an indicator of good play as anything else.) Possibly also subtract some points for losing the game.
- Give the jungler credit somehow for dragons / barons. (Yes, I realize these are team efforts and the jungler isn't even always involved, but it seems the right place to put points from this.

This week is incredible hard to pick for, due to slightly tilted values and all big name teams having at least one, if not two, nearly unpredictable matches. Was playing around and changing my lineup quite a lot, decided on this for the first week:
AD Carry - CLG.Doublelift ($ 28): He's very costly, but CLG is completely reliant on his performances. They will get him CS and Kills at any cost, promising good scores. He's also prone to get multi-kills, further increasing his potential. Three matches this week - TSM and Curse might be close (I think Curse should win against CLG atm), but GGU could be a rout. Also, most other ADs look overpriced in comparison to expectations - only Yellowstar (at 17) and CandyPanda (at 15) look like steals, and Genja (at 20) seems well-priced. All three of them have very close matches upcoming, so I decided to keep DLift (even though I personally dislike him - now I have to cheer for CLG T_T)
Support - fnatic.nRated ($ 16): It was either him or Elementz this week. Both have several matches with decent winning expectations. nRated seems a more risky pick, as he often plays initiating champions (Leona!) and hence dies, potentially lowering his score. However, Elementz had his own dry spells, and I'm not too confident in Curse's botlane, so nRated it is.
Top - fnatic.sOAZ ($ 17): Looks underpriced at $ 17, but didn't look too hot recently. I trust in his potential - if fnatic plays well, sOAZ can easily rack up silly amounts of kills. With the Bo1 format, we might even see something totally new - an underplayed champion, coming to decimate the top lane and dominate the game. I'd gladly have picked Voyboy (he's going to carry if Curse wins, mark my words) or the less consistent Wickd/Darien, but alas, Doublelift was damn costly and I wanted a strong mid laner.
Mid - GG.Alex Ich ($ 22): One of the most consistent mid lane players, and - judging from IEM Katowice - currently in good form. Likes Ryze (will score plenty of kills/carry lategame) and assassin-type champs (will score tons of kills), but may suffer in the CS department. However, GG should do well this week (not sure about EG - no tournament presence in what, two months?), so Alex it is. Mid had some incredible value (Nyjacky) and potential (Shiphtur, Exterminare) picks though, so I might come to regret this.
Jungler - CHW.Svenskeren ($ 18): Not much cash to splash left, and Svenskeren seems good value. Wanted to go for Nintendude (and Elementz over nRated) first, but Nintendude's main champ (Olaf) just got nerfed and GGU has a terrible first week with matches against CLG and Curse. Same reasoning also counts for GIANTS.Morden, who will face GG and fnatic. CHW's fixtures don't look much easier (SK, EG), but I'd give them more of a chance. The only jungler I'd expect to score more than average is actually Saintvicious - he farms a lot, and he gets kills lategame, so he might be a value pick; one that I sadly cannot afford.
|
My 5: (I don't feel like doing analysis of my pics in detail) Elementz ('cause he was cheap and the rest of team was expensive. Though from what everyone else is doing i should have taken nRated? Screw it; if Elementz does well and nRated doesn't then at least I can differentiate myself from everyone else on TL.) Yellowstar DiamondProx - (Easily best jungler I can think of.) Dyrus (he is too qt) Alex Ich - (He's a new daddy! Representing gaming fathers everywhere. Plus he plays Eve. Plus he kicks fucking ass.)

Well the system has it flaws, that's for sure, but even so it sounds like it is gonna be fun.
ADC: YellowPete Support: nRated Jungle: TheOddOne Mid: Alex Ich Top: Kev1n
I really tried to make sure that everyone was on a different team. I don't like having two people on the same team get crushed and put up pitiful numbers. On the other hand if they win, both probably do fantastic. Oh well. Not a risk I like taking.
So do the first two weeks of scoring even count? Or do we for real start counting in week one?

First two weeks of scoring apparently don't count as far as the site, but they TOTALLY count for your TL E-Peen.

ADC: Yellowpete Support: nRated Top: Voyboy Mid: mandatorycloud Junlge: Brokenshard
$99

How come when I click on my name in the league home, I don't see my lineup, but when I go to edit the lineup its there? Anybody know?

It is important to recognize the subtle distinction between "players that are good" and "players that will earn you points".
Also of note: scores are normalized by game length. Obviously this is because long games typically involve more kills and more CS, but teams that play longer games with long periods of inactivity where kills aren't happening (looking at you EG) have the potential to earn less points than teams that win quickly with similar KDAs

Also probably important to know which team each player is going up against.

I wasn't aware we were competing for anything BUT TL E-Peen. But thanks.

doublelift xspecial zionspartan nyjacky saintvicious 98$

doublelift nrated megazero (I think Team MRN is going to depend on him to do well) nyjacky saintvicious

Top: Dyrus I have enough extra $ that I could get Wickd or Darien or Voyboy top lane, but I would not be top 3 Dyrus Fanboi TL if I went for anything else
Mid: Alex Ich Mark my words, ecco is going to be a beast (#1 Dolphin NA) but he doesn't have matches this week so I went for a very well-priced assassin user who has very high cs rates
Adc: Doublelift Pretty much the easiest choice in the entire league. NM to be said here :/
Support: nRated or Elementz, but I chose nRated because I think Fnatic will be in more winning positions than curse.
Jungle: BrokenShard because I have no more moniez and junglers are all expensive
|
nRated - this guy probably will be way too expensive to field after actual LCS results come out instead of soloq but for now he is a steal
Alex Ich - Froggen cost too much $$$, but also Alex likes to play assassins (Kha, Eve) and roams for kills but always manages to get beast amounts of farm for the amount of pressure he exerts
Voy Boy - another "superstar" player who gets a lot of space and farm priority. Also plays Big Play champions to rack up thos league points
Cop - not a lot of money left at this point, he has pretty solid play
Svenskeren - DARK HORSE WOLVES GONNA WIN IT BIG
