Still needs more games. At least those who keep a open mind.

Just like competative Dominion i guess. Fun to watch at first, but getting boring really fast.

Fun to watch, sure.
But it hurts the legitimacy of a real tournament imo.

@dscarra: I'll be honest. Ryze should have sold all his items, bought 5 zeals and looked to throne the game after the 4 man death.

It's bad, takes at least 50% of the whole point of the competitive game away, statistically speaking

I think Blind Pick was actually the perfect thing. I dunno fills the role of ACE match really well. Plus this game was really good. Lets see how the other games go - if they reach Blind Pick that is.

Well it wasn't an ideal Initiate but they had to get an initiate really soon with top and bot inhib down and baron coming back up soonish. Else MIG Frost just dances at baron a bit then takes it for free and pushes back in. And even if you somehow win that fight you cant win of the counter, while like this they could have won of a solid teamfight win at least. So all in all I think it wasn't the worst idea at the time.

This. Was fun because of all the joking going around with the mirror matchups and differences in builds, but will quickly become very, very stale unless someone puts up some cheesy metagame-counter. Otherwise, we'll see five-bruiser-teams chopping away at each other, doing nothing - the whole game didn't have a single "Oh WOW" moment that squishier characters usually produce.

Agreed.
Some teams are just miles better than others at picks/bans/strategy. Completely negates that aspect for some teams. If some team is known to be mechanically better in game, they can just mirror pick and completely negate a lot of the strategic advantages of some teams.

I went to get dinner when I was sure MiG would win, apparently i missed a baron steal and a ceremony. What was the ceremony?

It depends on what a tournament game is supposed to represent. Does it show how exciting a game is or how ridiculous? I spent more time laughing at the Olaf vs Olaf and the "fights" than being interested in how the game would end. If fun is separated into two categories: excitement and laughter then these games were definitely the latter.

I think it is good way to settle a 1-1 lock. Instead of giving the advantage to the winners of the first game for the game 3 by having a ban/pick advantage or blue side choice etc. Though I think Shen not being mirrored was a mistake as he is soo STRONGK!
|
I liked every one of the games, including the last one. Didn't see what the rage was about.
then again it's my 3rd time watching LoL so...

I think one of the main problems was the itemization, completly focused on getting more and more Armor (they had a frozen heart on Ryze Urgot and Maokai which was kinda overkill....)
personally I didnt like the Blindpick, hard to watch the fights because of same champions and imho the picking phase is an important part of the game and it is in my opinion an important skill to outpick your opponent
Edit: In both of the games I saw (2 and 3) both teams made so many mistakes, I didnt really enjoy watching it that much ) : (I dont want to say that these teams are bad, just so many mistakes ) : )
|
Its a fun game but I don't agree with this. They should just let both team do the ban/pick on paper than blind pick. Since blind pick purpose is to random the purple/blue side.
