- Today Blizzard finally detailed their plans for the 2016 Spring Global Championship. Two teams from each from China, North America, Europe and Korea and one team from each from Latin America, Taiwan, SEA and Australia/New Zealand will qualify for the Spring Championship after fighting in their respective regional tournaments. You can read all the details in their announcement post.
- The biggest news this last week was the latest patch in which Greymane, the cursed King of Gilneas was made available. Sadly, apart from some minor bug fixes, no balance changes were implemented.
- While not implemented through the patch, Blizzard also deployed additional rules to tighten up the matchmaking. These new rules focus on reducing the amount of times solo queue players get matched against big parties. You can read the details in the announcement here.
- The December leaderboards are finally out. Stellar Lotus Wiz is the highest ranked player in the North American server again, so congratulations to him! Here you can find the leaderboards of America, Europe, and Korea.
- mYinsanity announced the departure of Crozzby and Wubby from their team roster, and the addition of Splendour and HasuObs. You can read the full announcement in their official site.
- Another big roster change was the departure of Fury and MadTimmy from Murloc Geniuses. Sadly, it appears the situation wasn’t handled very well by the management, and the players were understandably upset.
- COGnitive Gaming also announced roster changes. Scylol and Syracuse will no longer form part of the team, leaving COGnitive with only two players at the moment.
- TeamLiquid also had some roster changes. Vortix has announced that he is coming back to play StarCraft 2 professionally. His brother, Lucifron, is going back to school and will play StarCraft 2 only casually.
- Dustin Browder confirmed through Twitter that the Haunted Mines, one of the most divisive battlegrounds is cut and won’t be back unless it’s reworked. But no one is working on that at the moment. He also officially declared Tyrande OP, and that the team is looking to possibly increase Lunara’s health.
- Rick Fox, a retired NBA star may be looking to pick up a Heroes of the Storm team. Nice.
