News
- Throughout the week, the newest patch was available for testing in the PTR. A plethora of balance changes, the newest Battleground, Towers of Doom, and the scaling changes are some of the big things you will find there. The patch is expected to be deployed in the main game this Tuesday for North America and Wednesday for Europe.
- Even though the Grand Master League is not yet implemented in the game, Blizzard has continued to put out their monthly Leaderboards, where you can find the best players of Hero League for each of the regions: Americas, Europe, China and Korea.
- With the release of Cho’Gall, the WarCraft Ogre which can be controlled by two players at the same time, there’s a new Brawl with the Blues coming up this November 18th at 11:00 AM PST. Join Jesse Cox, Sinvicta, Crendor, Trikslyr and Ravinix while they play custom games with the community and answer your questions!
- On the same day at 02:30 PM PST, Kent-Erik Hagman and John Hodgson are going to hold a Q/A session on r/heroesofthestorm, to answer community questions related to Cho’Gall and the future changes to the game, so make sure not to miss it!
- Following BlizzCon, the community wasn’t quite happy with the removal of the XP tab in the stat screen. Even though the build was already locked, the team worked extra hard to get it back into the game and please the community. Here is roughly how it will look like.
Tournaments
- BlizzCon is over, but there are still tournaments going on in the Heroes of the Storm esports scene.
- Fragbite Masters in an ongoing European tournament where top teams such as Team Liquid, Dignitas, Gamers2, and more battle each other for a ≃ $8,700 prize pool. Group A has already been played with Liquid and Fnatic advancing, and the second group will be played this coming week on November 17. This tournament is a great opportunity to see how the European teams have changed after BlizzCon as well as take a look at all the changes to team rosters.
- The Gold Series Heroes League Season 2 has begun! The biggest tournament in China continues, this time with Cloud9 from North America invited as a guest. The first matches of the tournament have already been played, but there is still a lot of action going on for the next couple of weeks.
- The OGSeries Storm League is another European tournament going on at the moment. Eight teams battle one another in the round-robin group stage. After the dust is settled, six teams will advance to the double elimination playoffs stage.
- The last rounds of the Americas Open Qualifier for WCA were played this week. We don’t want to spoil you, but if you’re eager to know who qualified just click the link.
- Enter the Storm and Heroes Battle Arena are also on the schedule for the next month, so keep your eyes open for them.
- Make sure you don’t miss any of these events by adjusting your sidebar settings to show upcoming and current Heroes of the Storm streams and events.
TeamLiquid Spotlight
- This week we held our very first LiquidHeroes awards. Following the Heroes World Championship, we selected the best, worst, and most entertaining plays that happened over the tournament. From the greatest comebacks to the sickest play, you just can’t miss this awesome spotlight of the best moments of the Championship.
- After every big tournament, we always take a moment to look back and learn from it. Xingua brought us another one of his amazing ‘What We Learned’ articles, this time focused on the Heroes World Championship at BlizzCon. He goes over the reasoning behind the picks, the bans, and the strategy professional players used to compete in the tournament.

- Grubby has made an awesome article explaining the how the upcoming changes to the scaling and death timers will impact the game. It’s a great read that sheds some light into what the future of Heroes of the Storm holds.
