Sometimes it’s hard to keep up with the news of Heroes of the Storm. As a new, blooming game, there’s a lot of stuff going on. Don’t worry, we got you covered.
Patch
- After a week of testing, the Kharazim patch has been released!
- Following up the release of the monk, several Blizzard Game Designers and a 3D artists were on hand for Q&A on reddit to discuss the Kharazim Patch. They answered lots of questions about the game so it’s definitely something worth checking out.
- With this new patch, you’ll be able to share with everyone your love for slaving and mass murderin Treasure Goblins as you can now buy a Treasure Goblin mount for 20k gold and earn a fancy portrait by mercilessly killing 50 of those poor creatures. Blizzard confirmed that the Treasure Goblins will be around for a while, possibly months, so you’ll have plenty of time to get the special portrait!
Tournaments
- Team Liquid's Liquipedia, in partnership with MSi, is hosting a Bracket Contest for the Masters Gaming Arena 2015. It's the first big tournament since the game’s release that features teams from all the different regions. Because of that it should be some of the highest level of play seen yet in the heroes scene. It all happens this weekend on August 28-29. By participating in the Bracket Contest you could win amazing prizes, such as a super amazing MSI Z97 Gaming PC!
- Chinese team EDward Gaming was victorious in the http://wiki.teamliquid.net/heroes/Nexus_Cup/Eternal_Conflict, beating Korean team Snake eSports KR. Unfortunately for them they had visa issues and could not attend the Masters Gaming Arena and will be replaced by COGnitive Gaming.
- Both the North American and European Road to Blizzcon Top 8 took place this weekend.
Three EU teams and Two NA teams qualified for their respective regional championships. - For Europe Team Liquid was victorious and finally qualified to the European Championship. They were not completely dominant however, losing a game in each one of the series. Team Bob? made a surprise run all the way to the grand finals, beating Gamers2 in the Loser's Bracket' Finals after losing to them in the Semifinals. All three of these teams qualified for the European Championship to be held in Prague, Czech Republic that’s taking place the 3rd and 4th of October. There's still one more qualifier left from August 29 - September 6, where two more teams can earn their spot for regionals.
- This weekend also held what was the last North American qualifier for the Americas Regional Championship, making the last two spots highly sought after. With Cloud9 and Tempo Storm both already qualified and advancing to the winner's finals (again), the loser’s round 2 ended up being the match to determine the final two teams going to the Americas Regional Championship in Las Vegas, Nevada on September 19-20. compLexity Gaming and Murloc Geniuses (formerly Zeveron) managed to qualify for the Championship after taking the third and fourth place respectively.
- OGN’s super league continued as arguably the two strongest teams in the region faced against each other. MVP Black faced off agaisnt Snake eSports KR and in the closest series of the tournament yet MVP managed to edge out Snake eSports by a score of 3-2.
