Argh I'd find it really sad if they did dumbed it down so much that everything is like Alliance = GOOD, Horde = EVIL.. why not add a few shades of grey...
I doubt it will dumb down anything. The Wrathgate cinematic is pretty awesome if you've ever seen it.

Starship Troopers.
Also, the LOTR movies absolutely brought the print series to life. I don't know where some people get off bashing it...
Changing some original stuff found in the books and omitting huge chunks of it while putting in a lot of crap instead (absolutely boring and unnecessary Arwen/Aragorn love drama). There's quite a lot of things you can bash this movie for.
You cannot bash the battle scenes. Everyone of them was done on a large and epic scale.
Wow.. imo only people who know anything about movies should be allowed to post in this thread.
Wth is this, first I read that starship troopers was a great movie, then someone says LOTR was a crappy movie that looked bad and - the best part - had no plot while in the same post saying that 300 was great! lol And yeah - LOTR is "without any scenario", 300 had "awesome scenario" lol wtf

Its pretty stupid to say "WoW fanbois rejoice" or "lol wow" when the more important parts of the story are in the books and in the Warcarft 1-3 games. WoW has no plot. The Warcraft games have some interesting characters and the Arthas story is one of the best in any video game.
People should actually play campaign or at least read the Warcraft wiki before making such stupid judgments. Metzen is a GREAT lore architect.
The story is good enough to make a good movie, and 100 million is enough to cast and film it well.

hr that was pretty cool... who are the forsaken - did they already have a big role in WC3? Can't remember since its been ages since i played through the campaign - I only remember that the Sylvana Wildrunner arthas mentions in the vid turned evil kerrigan style.
Anyone who didn't like Starship Troopers takes things too seriously.. It's so bad that it's good. I mean aren't the ads and hilariously cheesy one liners in the movie a clear signal that it's not trying to be fucking Aliens and is more trying to be a spoof?
Anyway, on topic, the movie will probably be another 6/10 movie like all of Raimi's other efforts. Of course I'll still go and see it to support Blizz.

what you underestimate is how much WoW nerds think they know about lore
The timeline of the Warcraft movie will be set in between after the end of Warcraft 3:TFT and before the first WoW game (No space cows/protoss wannabe's).
They've said to make the movie in a warlike settings, no good guys vs bad guys bullshit, but instead more about 2 sides trying to survive after the shit that went down after war3. It will be told from the perspectives of the horde side i believe, if i remember it correctly... this however all are subject to change during the production.
too lazy to find the official blizzard post for this. but yeah thats basically it...
