Great list, and yeah Elliott Smith was amazing. I really hope he makes the top 100 on JJJ, but he has so many great songs I'm not sure if enough people will pick one particular song enough.

I'm obviously not as manly as most of you, but they are great songs imho. bright eyes - first day of my life is a really good song, one of the first songs i learned on my guitar
As you can see, its one of my favorites ^_^ Its such a touching song, and the music video is AMAZING. ON my gf's b-day this year i rigged the TV to act as a monitor and then played the video through it while we watched it on the couch. It was her first time hearing the song and she started to cry!

1. Achilles last Stand - Led Zeppelin 2. Echoes - Pink Floyd 3. Over Now - Alice in Chains 4. The Show Must Go On - Queen 5. Good to Know That if I Ever Needed Attention, All I Have to Do is Die - Brand New 6. Nutshell - Alice in Chains 7. Dogs - Pink Floyd 8. Californication - Red Hot Chili Peppers 9. Blue and Yellow - The Used 10. Time - Pink Floyd 11. Erotic Saints - Zeromancer
Last few I was not 100% on, but they are definitely up there. I know my top 5 because I spent a week deciding.

according to the weed guy on UCB, Sympathy for the devil is ranked 27th AT BEST. Sweet Home Alabama is the greatest song of all time. You are clearly a cop.

The Beatles - Let it be
I feel like this is the best single Beatles track - one that evokes the Beatles career as a whole and serves as a send-off to the group.
Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody
From its dynamic and unique structure to its exuberant execution, this track jumps out as a easy to love song with a place in Rock history.
Jethro Tull - Bouree
This is the song that made me want to play the flute. Enough said.
Pink Floyd - Brain Damage
This is more a nod to the album - though I pick this as the single track the represents the mood and structure of the album ( though Time is a close second)
Jefferson Airplane - White Rabbit
This track very much encapsulates the LSD experience to me. The best example I can find of channeling that otherwordlyness into music.
Ten Years After - I'd love to change the world
I don't know who these guys are, nor have I heard anything else by them I like. But I love this song.
The Beatles - While My Guitar Gently Weeps
Eric Clapton brings the guitar to life as a carrier of emotion here. Illustrates that music is emotion.
That's not 10, and I don't really care

Yep, Rach's 2nd Concerto might just be the greatest song of all time. I think that the third movement is the best part though.

Ugh I'm a bit allergic to all these "big" songs that you HAVE to have on your list. I would probably put in 10 metal songs or something.
In a sec...

My favorites in no particular order, and also off the top of my head.
#1 Paperthin Hymn - Anberlin This whole CD is amazing, I put this CD on repeat for at least a year.
#2 Truth of My Youth - New Found Glory So fast paced and awesome, not much else to say.
#3 Anything You Say - Deas Vail Again, this whole CD is amazing, It was really hard for me to pick a particular song for this band.
#4 Salt Water Room - Owl City I usually don't like pop but this dude is a musical genius. Recently Owl City has been the *man* to put on repeat for me, no homo. (it's just one guy not a band)
#5 Smother Me - The Used He puts a lot of emotion into this song and it just clicks for me. I feel this band has a number of other good songs too.
#6 The Unwinding Cable Car - Anberlin Pretty good CD but not as good as Never Take Friendship Personal IMHO.
#7 Worker Bees - Billy Talent I don't like this band much any more honestly, but I've listened to them so much in the past and I still listen to a couple of there songs such as this one every so often so I felt like I had to rep them.
#8 Aerodynamic/One More Time Remix (Alive album) - Daft Punk These two songs mixed is crazy awesome. (Kinda like a pillow fight)
#9 Learning To Breathe - Switchfoot Child hood memories, there old stuff is SO good.
#10 Be My Escape - Relient K Played a lot around me and it's so catchy, again a good band with quite a few good songs but they are scattered across so many CD's I haven't bothered listening to them hardcore much.
