The Rolling Stones - Stray Cat Blues

The Stones doing what they do best, punchy blues-rock.

Led Zeppelin - When the Levee Breaks

A driving rock song with almost prescient lyrics.

Dirty Mac - Yer Blues

John Lennon, Keith Richards, Eric Clapton and Mitch Mitchell form a "supergroup" and perform the white album classic.

Garmarna is a Swedish folk rock band (1990). Their songs are mainly old Scandinavian ballads. Some group them as folk under the influence.

Konung Vallemo gick åt stallet in
och Blacken så lägger han sadeln uppå

Å när han kom till grevens gård
så gnägga Blacken murarna ifrå

Och Blacken lyfte upp sin fot
den slog han i Grevens hjärterot

Så satte hon på Blackens bak
så rider hon hem uti god mak

The Vulture

King Vallemo was a wise old man.
He married off his daughter in a foreign land.

One day she stood in her bridal gown,
The next in bands of iron bound.

"And why do you do this to me?"
"For you were no maiden when you came to me."

"Oh had I a trusty friend and true
To carry these words to my father now!"

Then the old vulture came to her:
"Let me be your speedy messenger.

"If I could get food for my young from you,
I could be there in an hour or two."

"Then lay your young at my breast, if you will,
So that while you are gone they may eat their fill."

"King Vallemo, here you sit free from sorrow.
Your daughter will burn at the stake tomorrow."

"Fly away, old vulture, as quick as you can -
My daughter has married an honest man."

"If you won't believe what you hear from me
Look here at my claw, I am carrying her key.

" King Vallemo into the stable strode,
Saddled his black horse, and off he rode.

And when they came to the foreign lord's hall
The black horse whinnied high up on the wall.

The black horse lifted his mighty foot
And struck the lord in his cruel heart's root.

Then the king and his daughter sat on the black steed
And rode back home at a gentle speed.

Innercity Griots was a sick album, I love Freestyle Fellowship.

As for (relatively) newer hip-hop, I like Last Emperor. His debut album Music, Magic, Myth came out in 2003. Here is part one of his Secret Wars, Comic Book Characters vs Hip Hop Legends.

Part 2 is better if you ask me, but it's 10 minutes long.

I love Buckethead. It's like he makes you listen to a bunch of dumb shit (the beginning of this song) and just before you figure this guy is a total hack with some fancy pedals, he busts out some fucking wild shit and basically says "by the way im really good at guitar"

This song is stupid as hell (but very amusing) until about the 2:15 mark in this video. That's when the "Buckethead is super good at guitar" part starts.

haha, at around 3:55 he totally owns that shit.
..and then I would, ya know, check em'. (Aka SpoR)

Johnny Clegg & Juluka - Scatterlings Of Africa
from Scatterlings 1982

juluka
http://johnnyclegg.intercom-services....
savuka
http://johnnyclegg.intercom-services....

Copper sun sinking low
Scatterlings and fugitives
Hooded eyes and weary brows
Seek refuge in the night

Chorus :
They are the scatterlings of Africa
Each uprooted one
On the road to Phelamanga
Beneath the copper sun
And I love the scatterlings of Africa
Each and every one
In their hearts a burning hunger
Beneath the copper sun

Broken wall, bicycle wheel
African sun forging steel, singing
Magic machine cannot match
Human being human being
African idea -- make the future clear

Chorus :
They are the scatterlings of Africa
Each uprooted one
On the road to Phelamanga
Beneath the copper sun
And for the scatterlings of Africa
The journey has begun
Future find their hungry eyes
Beneath the copper sun

Ancient bones from Olduvai
Echoes of the very first cry
"Who made me, here and why? --
Beneath this copper sun."
My very first beginnings
Beneath the copper sky
Lie deeply buried
In the dust of Olduvai

Chorus :
And we are scatterlings of Africa
Both you and I
We are on the road to Phelamanga
Beneath a copper sky
And we are scatterlings of Africa
On a journey to the stars
Far below we leave forever
Dreams of what we were

Hawu beke Mama-ye! Mama-ye!
In the beginning
Beneath the copper sky
Ancient bones
In the dust of Olduvai
Who made us, here, and why
Remember!
Scatterlings of Africa (repeat and fade)

Johnny Clegg 46667 Concert 2007 (3/4) in Johanndesburg
with the Soweto Gospel Choir

Original from
African Litany (1981)

Impi

Chorus:
Impi! wo 'nans' impi iyeza
Obani bengathinta amabhubesi?
All along the river Chelmsford's army lay asleep
Come to crush the Children of Mageba
Come to exact the Realm's price for peace
And in the morning as they saddled up to ride
Their eyes shone with the fire and the steel
The General told them of the task that lay ahead
To bring the People of the Sky to heel
Chorus
Mud and sweat on polished leather
Warm rain seeping to the bone
They rode through the season's wet weather
Straining for a glimpse of the foe
Hopeless battalion destined to die
Broken by the Benders of Kings
Vainglorious General and Victorian pride
Would cost him and eight hundred men their lives
Chorus
They came to the side of the mountain
Scouts rode out to spy the land
Even as the Realm's soldiers lay resting
Mageba's forces were at hand
And by the evening the vultures were wheeling
Above the ruins where the fallen lay
An ancient song as old as the ashes
Echoed as Mageba's warriors marched away
Chorus

second one was fun.
But what the fucking shit was the first one jesus christ i tolerate brutal black metal vocals and a lot of crappy ones in order to get to their good music- but alas all i can say is wtf . I used to be able to say i don't mind any music besides most rap and mainstream songs, then there's that.
This is my opinion of course. ;o

Los Mono

A funk band that was intented to make the music for a cartoon here in Chile but the proyect got rejected, They liked the music so much that the decided to make a real album of it. Plus this is one of the best music videos i have ever seen.

Anathema

Started like a death metal band now they are more closer to something like pink floyd. I STRONGLY recommend you to download the album "a natural disaster".

Siam Shade

Prog Rock - Jrock. Most known as the autors of one of the endings of samurai x. Great guitars.
