"Hi Everyone, I was the guy from the press. I'll just tell you what I saw. Around AM, I came back from club with some french players and we saw around 15 players all together on the 11th floor (which contains Russia, France and Austria for example). Everybody was drunk but really cool. There has even been a joke on a Netherland FIFA player who got naked by othes guys, everybody was like laughing, even the FIFA guy. After a few minutes, I left them i order to go and see some french players in a room. After 30 minutes, I heard for some noise against the walls, but it was like every nights... Then I heard bad words in english... Came out from the room and saw Aspeak and the Russian guy in a close combat position, no one could separe them, even by trying. Then the situation became critical as a lot of people were drunk, evereybody was guilty at that moment. We tried to calm down the situation but the guy fighting with aspeak just run away (after he got some more punches from the french) and started to knock on the door of all russian guys, yelling some russian thing. I told the french players to calm down and stay in the room and got back in the one I was with the CS guys... Then I heard some other noises and get out. The only thing I saw was a guy with red eyes, bleeding noise and a big flat wooden stick (used to carry clothes in a cupboard). He asked me "you french?" and I answer - fool I am "yes". He just hited me on the arm I raised to protect my face. Whereas I was shocked, I sreamed to him "stop hitting are you crazy? I'm a press guy!". But the guy was drunk and began to prepare another strike. I was trully frightened at that moment. I can take a photo, but I got traces from the hit on my arm. At the same time, [aT]Th0r^ got out fromhis room and saw the situation. He called the guy who recognized him immediatly as Th0r^ was also involved in the fight at the beginning. 3 other russian guys arrived and began to block Th0r's arms. A fourth one came to me and told me softly "go sleep". I was astonished, I felt like they wanted to kill Aspek and Th0r ! As I refused to move and tried to help Th0r^, the guy pushed me away (quit gently, thanks) and repeated "go sleep, close the door, Russia's gonna kill France". Words by words, I swear. I know that everybody except me quit drunk and badly excited but at that moment, I had deadly thoughs... And at that moment, Th0r^ and Aspeak understood that they were in a serious trouble. Th0r^ suddenly escaped his opponents and locked his room, with Aspeak and Mat Logan (the young Halo Player who had to sleep because he was in Grand Final). So the Russian guys began to look for french guy. At a moment, I heard less nois so I opened my door and saw a Russian guy knocking on French AOM player. He opened and the Russian asked "are you french?" and the guy -as fool as me - answered "yes?". The russian guy kicked him in the stomach. But the french managed to evade a little bit and lock his door after a little fight. Then, the russian began to hit badly Aspeak and Th0r door. I don't know if someone has pictures of it, but the locker was justed CRUSHED, they kept on kicking and hitting with the wooden flat stick for at least 10 minutes. "Open the door Aspeak, we just want to speak". Erk. As we were all locke in rooms, I called the reception and asked them to send security. Then I called the other rooms to wake up the french guy cos at that moment, I must admit that I was preparing myself for a fucking mayhem. I was really affraid for the guys. I don't care who began or who insulted first. I was juat about to fight. But suddenly, the noises stopped and everything became quite calm. The security and Steven from ICM were finally here. They talked first with the Russians, while the french were talking together. Then I went to the 12th floor to wake up Maraboo, the French Team Leader and asked him to wake up the Russian Team Leader. They came to the 11th floor and talked to ICM and the security. From the Security tape, insults began from both sides but Aspeak hit the first. he admitted it to the ICM guy. But the video also showed the wooden stick case. Then Aspeak and Th0r asked both to sleep elsewhere to get security (their door was like a saloon double door). From that moment, none other aggression was made between the two countries. At the moment, the 2 nations are duscussing and trying apologize to each other. To conclude, I won't accuse Russia for being responsible of everything . Imho, trouble comes from everywhere when people are drunk. I'm just sorry that it became so violent. I met Aspeak in wcg 2002 qualifications and I didn't appreciated him much (he acted bad manner when I met him though). I won't try to defend Aspeak, it's not the first time he hit a guy (he hit E-toile)vampyr at a lan event last summer) and it's not the first time much of French community blame him for it. But why I really don't understand is that almost everyone blamed the whole team France since Aspeak is the only one who acted badly. | ||
