If you are getting some type of unique screen when you visit the above link i posted then your AIM name must have been associated with an actual AOL account at some point, or still is. Have you ever paid for AOL as an internet provider before? Your parents maybe?

I seriously doubt AOL is going to do anything to get your screename back, because everything you are telling them someone has already tried before, to steal account names. They get messages all the time from people trying to scam user information claiming that "someone stole my account, but i swear that I am the actual owner". Unless your screename is tied to financial records which you can use to back up your claims.

We have never had or used AOL so I don't know why it's doing that.

I understand that it could seem like I'm a scammer myself, but I actually have access to the e-mail address registered to my screen name so in theory I can prove it's mine.

What do you mean? The part about AOL or the part about releasing all the information I have? Also, he didn't want me to pay him directly... he wanted me to pay the guy directly that was selling the screen name. I tried to convince him to let me pay him directly but since he's only 15 he doesn't have access to internet finances yet :-/

if you have e-mail acces your buddy (their e-mail addresses) list should be there. (?)
