This is more likely to go the way of that Dallas/Austin bomber than Boston, especially since no one has died. Silent investigation -> really stupid mistake if he hasn't already made one -> captured and thrown away, all with very little media furor behind a few places trying to spin it in their own ways.

Trump tweeted this morning that the reason there is so much Anger in the country is because of the Main Stream Media being false and hateful. And that they need to clean up their act.
We don’t know who sent the bombs, but the president has made it clear how he thinks folks can avoid receiving future bombs.

Frankly what Trump is saying is worse. His opinion seems to be that if only people weren't so critical of him, they wouldn't be getting bombs sent to them, so its their own fault.

To be fair, it is in Fox News. Their actual news reporting is pretty fair. A little bit partisan, for example here they just mention he has been listened to, but not that he refused to use only the secure phones. But let's say it's "acceptable". The news exited the front page in around 3hours.

Trump's base will just assume Trump uses it to confuse Russia and China so that they never know what is real and what isn't. They see the idea of an unsecured device as proof he's playing 4d chess.
Edit, on a somewhat separate topic:
I don't think the civil war actually ever ended. All of the underlying issues causing the civil war were never dealt with. I would argue allowing for 2 completely distinct cultures to exist within the same country was a mistake that was going to boil over eventually. Trump's presidency has accelerated the boiling, but the culture war has been going this entire time.
