EPTThe USA won the gold in Olympic Hockey so I'll use a hockey analogy. Trump is the head coach of a hockey team losing 6-1 with 3 minutes left in the 3rd period. He knows his team and his leadership will get roasted on ESPN that night... so what he does is .. he throws his 5 biggest goons over the boards to start fights and create a bench clearing brawl. That way the brawl is the news item rather than the 6-1 loss.

Obama deported substantially more than Trump; Obama did so without fuelling his own opposition by referring to the criminal migrants as though they are sub-human. Obama used the term "undocumented workers" when referring to people entering the country illegally. Obama effectively got everyone on his side.
