I find Bessent's recent statements and actions disturbing. Some months ago he announced his official position on tariffs has 'evolved' and he was now pro-tariff. He started stepping out of his area of expertise months ago and started commenting on military issues. 2 or 3 weeks ago he was yapping about strangling Iran economically like a boa constrictor via military actions. Since then, a Saudi pipeline got hit and a major Saudi airport got hit. Yanis Varoufakis' comments on Bessent claims he could steer the bond market were disturbing. Yanis said he previously believed Bessent was competent. Yanis now openly questions Bessent's competence. So, ummm ya.
