Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was accused of "manhandling" Opposition whip Gord Brown and elbowing NDP MP Ruth Ellen Brosseau in the House of Commons as MPs gathered for a vote on the government's assisted-dying bill Wednesday afternoon. In video from the House, Trudeau is seen walking toward Brown in a crowd of MPs in the Commons aisle, taking his arm in an apparent effort to move Brown toward his seat. While doing so, he encountered Brosseau, who was also standing in the aisle and was seen physically reacting after the contact. . . NDP MP colleague Niki Ashton said she was deeply troubled by Trudeau's actions. "I am ashamed to be a witness to the person who holds the highest position in our country do such an act. I want to say that for all of us who witnessed this, this was deeply traumatic. What I will say, if we apply a gendered lens, it is very important that young women in this space feel safe to come here and work here," she said Prime Minister Justin Trudeau accused of 'manhandling' a MP in the House of Commons

"Penalty to #1 of the Federal Liberals Justin Trudeau; two minutes for elbowing at 12:29. Trudeau two minutes for elbowing at 12:29." Trudeau should get a 2 minute minor for elbowing and the NDP are acting like he should get a 5 minute major along with a game misconduct and a meeting with Gary Betman. His bigger problem is saying "Get the Fuck Out of the way" in the House of Commons. And this is fucking awesome, they had to separate Trudeau and Mulcair. What is this the 3rd game of the Stanley Cup semi-finals or the house of commons guys? ROFLMAO.

Coming from a member of your own party: guys, quit being a bunch of pussies. I mean come the fuck on, he's the most feminist, pro-woman prime minister we've ever elected as a country and you're trying to eat him alive over some actual bullshit minor incident, claiming parliament is not a safe-space for women? Give me a fucking break... And when you decide to get physical in the house of commons (intentionally blocking MPs with your bodies) don't fucking bitch when someone else gets physical back (in roughly the same proportion). This is called hypocrisy, and it doesn't look very good. Get your shit together, NDP. I really, really want to vote for you but this is some silly shit right here.

https://www.thestar.com/news/canada/2016/05/19/justin-trudeau-to-address-house-of-commons-over-scuffle.html "However it was clear after the Commons wasted nearly four days in procedural wrangling, dust-ups, insults and apologies, that Parliament is unlikely to meet the deadline to legislate in response to the high court’s Carter vs. Canada decision that decriminalizes physician-assisted death for competent adults." even canada's favourite liberal rag can't find away to apologize for Trudeau. Like i said during the election i knew there would be some George W. level idiot moves, however, i never imagined something like this. what a moron.

NDP blow things way out of proportion, Trudeau gives a halfassed apology, then May walks in and explains what actually happened in a reasonable manner. Yup. Honestly, one of the best things May has been able to do since elected is cut through a lot of partisan nonsense. She's how you actually 'tell it like it is' rather all of Trump's bluster.

My dad hates Trudeau and even he thinks this whole thing is ridiculous and blown way out of proportion. There's literally no one in Canada who doesn't think it's ridiculous and blown way out of proportion. The only people saying otherwise are doing it to push their political agenda.

Glad to know our Canadian brothers and sisters up north are doing their part to try to make the US look less ridiculous this cycle, lord knows we need all the help we can get.

We're always there for you, bro. If Trump is polling ahead come October, just say the word and we'll mobilize the Royal Canadian Mounted Police to conduct military exercises on the American border armed with lances and riding bears in formation.

if Junior was doing the right thing he would not apologize 5 times while sweating and uttering "ummm", "uhhh", and "errrr" 100 times in a 300 word apology. He has so much practice at apologizing you'd think he'd be better at it than this. are some trying to milk it for more than its worth? sure. so what. welcome to partisan politics. a government agenda item got fucked into the ground because Junior acted like an idiot. Junior needs to improve his anger management skills.

You ever bump into someone in a crowded supermarket? or on a really busy street? yeah, this was not even that.

the house of commons is not a retail store open to the public. it is closer to a place of work than a supermarket. a better analogy would be pushing your way through 5 people at work to get to the high speed printer that only a technician operates while telling the people you are shoving to "get the fuck out of the way". try that at work this week... see how it goes for you. if this were nothing there'd be zero apologies and motion 6 would be moving forward. if you are big believer in motion 6... you know what to do. by his own admission it was an idiot move. no one who matters thinks this is "nothing".

Acting like petulant children by blocking the Whip is not okay, neither is impeding progress on policy. Trudeau works to get the motor running, then the NDP actively attempt to blockade him and after a little accidental shove, start crying crocodile tears and claiming it was assault? What a disgrace to actual victims of sexual assault, and to Canadians everywhere. The party Jack Layton built is no more but an insolent child of its former self, frustrated that it lost to Trudeau and willing to create any pretense of attacking him on the most baseless charges. You can say Trudeau is a pompous idiot who has done nothing, but you can't seriously claim he assaulted Brosseau when he was doing the job Canadians elected him to do. The party of Jack Layton was always just a small child. Have we forgotten the coalition of the losers so quickly? Either way the NDP here are disgusting, I dislike trudeau but still feel bad for him here but I don't think he should have apologized for this. It comes off to me as being way too concerned about how he looks to other people instead of caring about what actually happened. I didn't like much of his fathers policies either but he at least had a back bone.
