The water is actually oversaturated with carbon dioxide molecules and by putting something in it with a rough surface it has an easier time to nucleate and get out of solution towards thermodynamic equilibrium. Your tongue is a nice nucleation spot for example. Well, after nucleation the bubble grows and has an inherent pressure drop to it. I think it's this pressure drop you're feeling. | ||
