Synthetics and pseudo-cannabinoids are in the process of being outlawed on the federal level. So "legal buds" will be illegal in a few months time. I've never gone for that scam shit anyway. Spice and JWH blends are also outlawed in the same bill, but those are ineffective and shitty compared to actual weed.
