Here is a good article on Callas' appearance and her general status as an actress-singer. When it comes to physical appearance, there are better. When it comes to vocal beauty, there are better. But very few have her acting charisma, the charms of which I think are shown in this video, despite her physical and vocal faults. | ||

Compare Callas' Carmen with Agnes Baltsa's Carmen from the Metropolitan: You will notice that they sound by no means the same. This Carmen is much better but less attractive  | ||
