I am going to play exclusively on ICC from this point onwards.

It's a shame I have to pay to get good games, but I run into such blatant engine usage and actual verbal abuse that the only way to avoid it is to have consequences for players when an account gets banned. Hopefully this means I run into less children, cheats and other low lives.

I moved there from chess.com for better competition. What's your handle?

Carlsen vs Topalov ended after 7 hours of play.
Most epic game in history.
Topalov crushed Carlsen with some Jedi mind tricks.

According to some (reddit) Magnus didn't know there would be no time added after 60 moves. He was late to the game and therefore missed the arbiter's talk on the change in time control from last year's event.

That just happened.

He's joking about Carlsen flagging.

whoa Magnus with a 0/2 start?

For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

The only reason he's at 0/2 is because he did not know there was no time added after 60 moves, otherwise he'd have won the first game and would possibly have been in a better state of mind for the second.

Sure, but it's still very different from a "legit" 0W 2L score.

Carlsen misses a crushing win and Caruana overplays in a dead drawn rook ending and loses.

I just realized that all the Black wins in the Norway Chess Tournament were by Topalov alone.

i watch it live on chess24 but you can easily check the older matches, move by move, just by clicking/selecting the game you want.
