I was trying to explain that very thing, that no-one would choose to be raped, so why would you want to experience it in a movie, and why would we want to put the experience anywhere further into the minds of our society? Of course, one could claim they wanted to empathize with rape victims and that watching a rape could help them understand. It doesn't. Go talk to a rape victim. You'll get a better idea.

I'm so sick of the argument: "Well it really happens, you know? You can't hide from what really happens in the world." Just because something actually happens doesn't mean millions of people should experience it in movie theatres all over the world. Putting deeds like that on display only furthers their scarring effect and spreads the trauma of the experience around. No-one should experience rape. No-one. That's not necessarily the worst part. There are lots and lots of borderliners out there in the world, and we don't need any more gratuitous violence or other depraved acts epicted, to give them ideas. What can I say other than I agree. I'm sick and tired of all these pathetic attempts to gain exposure by controversy. I vote neck shot for director, producer, male adult actor, and parents of child actor...

![]() edit: and from the look of the script that that one guy posted either script writer or the director or both are definately pedos. She probably doesn't know this tho. Another reason she might do this movie even if she is unsure about it is due to the age of the character she will never be able to go back and do it

When I was that age I read 1 to 2 scfi/fantasy books per week, and because of it none of the kids my age understood me. Im not the one who usually critizes any form of writing, as people do what they want. I'm pretty sure you do not understand where she is going with this scene, there might so many reasons why she is doing it. Anyways, what does reading 2 books a week have to do with it? I read more probably, and books you would never dare to read at age 12, like Virginia Woolf's To the Lighthouse, Tolstoy's Anna Karenina; and to read books doesn't mean you have to be misunderstood. As an actor she is exposed not only to the motivations of the characters she portrais but also the motivations of other adult actors. She probably has an idea of sex being this great thing or whatever and the thought of it being something so horrible is probably something she feels the need to understand, and what better way than through acting. Her mom looks like the free love hippy type who after seeing her daughter has made up her mind to do something will be supportive. Either that or shes been molested ![]() Are we even sure she wants to play this part? A mother has all the legal right to submit her daugther to play any part she wishes, if she is complying with all the regulations. There is nothing about the idea of sex in a rape scene, sex is not sweet and most defenitely she is not exposed to the motivation of other actors to be raped. Its not natural.

I can immagine that it might be the same for a young actress. Everyone was attacking chicks mom, I was just offering a counter possiblity, maybe the mom isn't some evil moneygrubbing sex offender, and just respects her daughter's maturity enough to allow her to choose the parts her daughter plays whatever her own preference. The manager more than likely goes through the parents. It isn't a part a little girl should take part in, nor something that should really- in my opinion- be depicted on screen. The only person that could possibly be blamed is her mother. She's not a hippy, she's a money grubbing bitch.
