I see it about equally in cans and cartons, never in bottles, though. I have no idea why you'd see it more in cans anywhere. It's probably the places you're shopping, or something.

Not sure about Pineapples but the OJ ( and a lot of other fruit juices) can't be stored in a galvanized (most metals) container or the citric acid will eventually react with the metal from the container and make it mildly poisonous.
