Also, the WR wouldn't have had splits or perhaps even a clean recording to upload anywhere, so it's not all bad. I'm pretty sure they're recording the runs separately.
That's usually standard procedure at the marathons, but I don't know if that's changed as the scope of the event has shifted so significantly towards entertainment and bringing in donations. I was mostly concerned about Cosmo getting a clean game only recording that he could put commentary over and upload onto his youtube channel.
There's also the issue that they've had preserving the hard recordings before, which would just leave us with what twitch has, which is obviously not ideal for a WR.

Cosmo quiet, he has no control over the run. You can tell it's bugging him. Mirrored talkin too much, and throwing to donations. There's plenty of stuff Cosmo probably could/would like to discuss during short cuts.
Edit: Not that I'm knocking donations of course, but he should be the one tossing it, since I'm pretty sure he's thought about what to explain and when ahead of time.

Doing that well saved him a little over a minute compared to the record.

He's already said he was starting to get annoyed with it. Donation comments are a huge problem now, they dominate the airtime that the runner could be using to explain what the hell is going on in the game. Obviously getting them read live is a big incentive to giving money to the charity of choice, but they'll probably have to set a bar on how much you have to donate before your comment gets read next time around.

I have a feeling that's how it was in the past, like $20+, as tradition. But now that's so common and donations are blowing up (which is GREAT) that it floods the air time. Cosmo could literally be talking through this entire run, alone, and always have something meaningful to explain. In fact, that's probably what he planned on, or was expecting, and that's not the case...

They will need to change the format, that is true. They aren't reading everything even now though. Reason being they didn't expect this amount of donations/viewer-ship. It is totally out of scale with earlier events.
Having a scrolling list at top/bottom as CNN and other news channels have would probably be the best idea. Perhaps with vetting them to remove PG18 content.

Maybe they could just put a ticker a the bottom that would show the donator comments or something. I understand how they feel, I mean mine didn't get read or anything, but I feel like I have missed so much cool info during the speedruns that have been going on because they are just not given enough time to explain things.

They're already way behind, so there's no reason not to have a 10 min delay or so on scrolling comments and just have a group of people behind the scenes sorting through them to make sure they're appropriate first. Will be interesting to make work, but would be insaaaanely cool for future marathons.

Almost exactly 3 behind still.

Ummm, am I the only one confused by the Mirrored hatred? What exactly is he doing wrong? He's adding commentary. Did Cosmo clearly ask him to shut up or something or is this just stupid chat?

I still can't tell when the clitch where he jumps off the ledge was successful. It always looks the same lol

Edit: Cosmo is great at commentating his runs, and given the scope and viewership he probably had it well planned ahead of time.
Edit 2: God they're REALLY overtalking now. It's getting bad. Mirroreddddd BibleThump
Edit 3: Traditionally (I think) the other runners are there to help in times of concentration or much more silence, such as the commentary during Sig's run. It's clear Cosmo has plenty to talk about

Mostly he is fine, but occassionally he will talk a lot then comments will come on, then he'll talk a lot and cosmo doesnt get a chance to talk... and cosmo likes to talk while running.

Well he does cut off Cosmo a lot and most of the people in the chat who have watched speedruns previously generally know cosmo and do not know mirrord. They want to hear the speedrunner who they are fans of give the commentary.

It's mostly the fact that people love Cosmo cause he commentates his runs so well and he loves it but Mirrored just keeps talking and talking and interrupting, and you can see Cosmo is getting irritated.
