How can a single human being be stupid enough to make such a statement and not realize that math and physics are what made possible every technological tool and objet that surrounds us nowadays?
And making such a statement after associating pyramids with slavery and before making an analogy which does not make any sense bewteen the universe and the earth-mars distance... really?
Exploration is part of us, our history, our culture. We go in space because that's what's next. This almost cost anything to fund this if you look at it from the point of view of a single person ( 50 cent.... 50 CENTS ! how can one even think about whining on such a ridiculous amount per citizen required to improve our knowledge?).
What people should whine about is that there aren't more taxes of 50 cent or so which would fund international support against hunger and poverty.
Going to Mars and in space are tremendous feats which often boost our technologies and knowledge ( plus the whole space industry creates a lot of jobs thank to which a lot of families live decently ).

Which is actually entirely true. They may not have used exclusively slaves, but they ALSO used them (which is also proven, check on Amenemhets II), so stop picking on a true statement - it makes you (and the other guy) look stupid.

the funniest part is that he is posting on a starcraft website which is a game based on ridiculously speculative space travel and technology in the future. I guess these people have just been so spoiled by scifi that they dont actually realize how far we are away from such worlds in reality. To them its like "meh big deal about mars, i been fighting wars on tarsonis." LOL

I believe the spheres were hematite, and they mentioned in the conference that while they would probably find some hematite in the soil, it was nothing like the pebbles they found with Opportunity.
