This is a tragic event. Let's not derail the thread with a gun control debate. Posts from page 9 onward will be moderated for steering the discussion towards gun control. |
To follow up on my comment of someone possibly letting the shooter in. Another witness apparently said the same thing

Im not sure its that easy to conceal your gas mask and rifle. He cant have been sitting there the whole time. No if he was in there, pretended to answer his phone and leave out the exit. Then to come back in with his weapons. Based of the twitter. Makes sense.

I just hope this doesn't spur a whole new era of fucking paranoid security measures for every minor shit we want to do in life. If I have to go through a body search before I enter a movie....

Fucking tragic. Thoughts go out to those affected by this

Hold up. I thought emergency exits are supposed to trigger an alarm when opened.

How can you be for executing someone whilst arresting them but not when they have been arrested? Fwiw I am pro-death penalty for mass murderers.
Also, I hope they don't give him a platform like with this Breivik farce, which has allowed multiple days for him to preach to similarly unhinged people when it should have been dealt with away from the public.

Agreed, the less publicity and face time this guy gets the better. The last thing anyone needs is him to preach his message to a bunch of like minded individuals.

This is probably the one time I hope there's some police coverup and just ends it before he surrenders peacefully.

Well, considering there's probably quite a few people who try to go through it mistakenly I'm sure it's not convenient to have it ring an alarm for everyday purposes. Stuff like this happens very rarely.

Why was a 8-months year old child or other children in that cinema ??
|
My heart goes out to all the people who have been affected by this, it is truly horrific. May the unfortunate ones who fell victim to the attack somehow rest in peace.

Parents are very reluctant to leave a 3 month old alone for any amount of time, And babies will sleep through just about anything The child is doing fine, which is very very good.

Poor girl is getting interviewed. Said the man walked back and forth by her while she tried to lay still.

As terrible as this incident is, it's probably going to make the Dark Knight Rises gross even more.
Kinda like the Heath Ledger death, these tragedies only create more publicity for the movies. (Not to say the films are bad or anything)
Shootings are retarded. Airing these on the news will only encourage more people to try it out. Unfortunately, not airing them would be even worse. I hope this isn't the future of America. (or the world for that matter)

The three-month old girl seems to be fine. That's a little light in a very dark dark.

Most likely. Even though, i think Cinemas will follow all around the world what some cinema/all cinemas in Paris has done already. They cancelled the premier due the shootings.

Terrible news.
It's a real shame people with these kind of problems can't satisfy there need to act out their desires in a way which doesn't affect others. If you had a desire to shoot people go to a gun club, get a licence and shoot some targets or something, or go hunting if it's legal in your area.
Obviously not on the same level but for people who drive like lunatics... go to a track and do it there, not on the streets.
In this case though, it seems like some higher level of mental issue.
Shame its America in the spot light again for a shooting spree, i'm not sure where I stand on the legal guns debate but in a country with that many people, incidents like this will happen more often as generally more people = more crime.
My thoughts are with all involved, bar the killer obviously.
