too many
2 BB (blue) 2 Rugby (pink, reddish) 1 j crew (purple) 1 Gant (pink)
the BB ones were $30, and so were the rugby ones. jcrew was $20 so I really haven't spent all too much.
but still lol.
depends how much you wear them. if every day, go up to 4-5 but if its only a few times a week you're fine. what colors?
|
|
maybe get a spare but you should be ok. where did you get them?
price points and styles for loafers/coat? i can try to help now that i'm at a computer
|
|
for the coat, I bought one of these: http://fidelitypeacoat.com/
keep in mind though, that dark navy pretty much means black. It's quite warm, fits nice and snug for me (I bought a 32). On my the cut isn't very traditional, it's actually slim fitting and cuts in a little but at my natural waist. I'm sure that's just because I'm small and sized down one on chest so that my arms fit well though.
Similar to the fidelity is : http://www.schottnyc.com/products/lifestyle/military/classic-32-oz-melton-wool.htm
More expensive but more color selection.
both are the same style as the one made for the US Navy. Not 100% wool (recycled at that) but for the price, the fidelity is very good, at least to me.
Define loafers for me.
Something like this?
|
|
I would consider those more moccasins than loafers.
|
5'6" 143 last check. My measurements are kind of off though because i rapidly lost/gained weight recently. I was 133 in august after being 145 in july, and now I'm almost back there lol, but i mostly gained in my waist. Not athletic build for me, quite skinny.
and I agree with andy, those are more mocs, and the first set more like driving shoes
edit:
i just noticed but i appreciate your signature, andy.

Hi, so i'm looking for advice on nice ($50~60/shirt is my budget) casual cotton button downs that i can wear untucked. I'm 5'10, 160 pounds. I'm looking for a shirt preferably that has the numbered size measuring (e.g. 15/33), instead of S/M/L, but i'm not picky.
I have a couple BB Extra Slim Supima OCBDs but they don't fit as slim as I'd like and I always wear them tucked in since they have the weird label on the front near the bottom button.
Thanks!
|
The bb ones are meant to be tucked. Im wearing one now hehe
J crew (s/m/l sizing though) ocbds. Xs fits perfect on me, and i have the same problem with the bbs. Arms a bit too big and torso just slightly big, although it ends up fitting pretty well anyway

Thanks for the quick response. Maybe something like this? http://www.jcrew.com/mens_category/shirts/slimshirtshop/PRDOVR~50954/50954.jsp I'm looking for that kind of pattern.
The BB are way too big for me, I just wear them to work when I want to switch up. The BB Dress shirts are awesome though, they are my go to dress shirt. I thought their OCBDs would be just as good, but was extremely disappointed.

J.Crew would be too baggy for him, especially if he considers BB Extra Slim Fit not enough.
At 5'10, 160lbs is pretty skinny. I'd say try Hugh and Crye. Might be over your budget a little bit, but there are sales from time to time, which brings stuff down to the 40-60 price range.

Like mentioned above, don't do it. I'm 5'8.5, 165 lbs. I have a J.Crew slim shirt, and I just brought it to the tailor to be taken in by 2" today,

Yeah, just looking at the photo of the Jcrew shirt, it seems a little too big for me.
It looks like I'm a Short/Slim for Hugh and Cry, does that sound right? I'm usually a 15/33 for most other dress shirts. Looking through those shirts, they are exactly what I'm looking for, just a little on the pricier side but I'm willing to pay more. http://www.hughandcrye.com/products/el-jefe How often do they have sales?

Judging by the pattern you said you like, it reminds me of this. On page 84 here, the shirt I'm wearing is a Brook Brothers Slim Fit shirt in small. For me, at Brooks Brothers, its either Slim Fit Small, or Extra Slim Fit Medium. It would give you a good idea of the fit since you know how tall I am now. The Slim Small is too tight in the chest for me though, as the buttons are pulling, and I have a 41" chest.
You shouldn't be Short. You would be in the Average category at least. What is your chest measurement?
Not too sure about the sales, but I only bought from them once, and returned it since their products didn't fit me. The products I had at the time were on sale then. Give them a ring if you have any questions, as it's just a small company and the owners answer the phone a lot of the time.

I would say my chest is between 37.5-38 and my neck is 15. That's what i thought as well, I've never ordered anything short, I'm usually a regular.
I like how that shirt fit you, looks good. I might actually be a Extra Slim Small for BB, but I'm afraid the shirt might be too short if i go down to a small.

If you want to wear it untucked, it should be shorter. It looks hideous when a lot of people wear their shirts untucked, that were meant to be tucked in.
Since you are taller than me, a small should be good for you to try to wear it untucked.

Oh i assumed it was just slightly baggy
If it's really big, then dont go j crew
What's your waist? That's a wide chest lol
I feel the need to plug wolf vs goat somewhere. SF loves them and i'll be making an order once my ban lifts.

I'm a 32/33 waist, 33 sleeve length, and i think my chest might be 37 if it's a tight measurement, if the measuring tape is supposed to be loose it's closer to 38.
Holy moly, wolf vs goat is expensive, the two shirts i just browsed through were 185-210$.

Talk about athletic haha
Yes but great quality for the price. And its run by 1 guy who posts onSF all the time

Hey guys I want to know what everyone in here thinks about beanies. I wear a couple, and some alpaca hats, but is it too shabby or is it just drab? I get a lot of shit from my friends for wearing them, but then again they that's just a trend with me.
