Anyone have recommendations for some backpacks that can carry a 14" laptop, a sweater/hoodie, and 1-2 really thick books if necessary?

Kinda weird but dirt cheap AnnD wool coat from this season, there's an extra 20% off code that makes it like $300 shipped to the US, size L but fits M.

Looking for something boring and minimalistic, possibly even "formal" or unadorned enough that it could be worn in a dressed up office setting.

Not sure if there's such a thing as a formal backpack, all the high fashion ones are just pieces of leather marked up to 3k. If you just want a simple leather back, IISE is good, don't know if it'd fit a 14" laptop, it couldn't fit my 15.6". I think you'll want something leather with lots of pockets and kind of ugly to go with a suit. If it's just a simple and clean leather backpack it'd be too fashiony and weird.

In a "dressed up setting" you need to make the distinction between like full suit investment banker or more regular white collar business casual. In the former you're probably going to need a brief case or really nice messenger bag, the latter it honestly doesn't matter (though you play it by ear as appropriate). At work I use a free backpack from another company that I got during an on-campus event.

A leather backpack is too "fashionable" at work IMO though a messenger bag would be better. But then it's potentially a pain in the ass to lug around if you're going to have the books.

I dress super casually for work despite a lot of people in the office wearing suit and tie lol a little on the fashiony side is fine. it would go fine with what i wear a lot of the time anyways.

Basically I want a minimalist-y (leather? flexible on this I guess?) backpack that isn't some SLP marked up to 2k thing.

Really don't know a lot about backpack, but this is the one I have. It's surprisingly versatile, aesthetic and material wise. Waterproof, can probably fit five 14" laptops.

http://www.coteetciel.com/en-US/nile-backpack-obsidian-laptop-bag

Otherwise you should just get a cheap eastpack, would be in better taste than an expensive leather one.

I was actually looking at Cote and Ciel bags, considered an Isar but looked at the measurements and realized it's actually fucking huge lol. Maybe one of their smaller ones.

filson 256? it's not that exciting or a backpack (doesn't sound like it would fit in)

I like this one (backpack)

Those shoes are so ugly. I can make some Jackson Pollock shoes that probably look better for a tenth of the price.
The unrealistic sound of these propositions is indicative, not of their utopian character, but of the strength of the forces which prevent their realization.

splatter painting is actually more difficult than it seems (for someone that isnt regularly around paint). the paint consistency has to be right. too think and it takes a lot of force to splatter, and the canvas gets globs. too thin and it doesn't stay on the brush, or whatever you're using

source: my final project for a class was a splatter painting bc i didn't want to write an 8+ pg paper, and i felt like making some art

I washed my APC PS for the first time in a while. They haven't had much wear since the last wash, so despite the 2+yrs between washes, I probably wore them less than 5x. I tried to self repair, but my stitching was poor and ended up doing more damage. Total wear time is probably ~ 9 months of 3-4x a week, and another 3 months of 1-2x. So even though they're a few years old there's significantly less wear on them than the time suggests.

Before pics, no after because they're still drying. Color on the 5th image is probably the most accurate.

Are these scuffs that can be easily polished?
