Material costs are much higher in nice clothes as well, but yeah we know that we're paying a premium for design, thanks for the ten thousandth reminder. Why do you act like thats a bad thing?

You're taking the ethical thing a bit too far. I was offering a reason why people spend more on clothes. Surely that doesn't apply as the primary reason for everyone obviously. Brands like Outlier and N&F don't charge outrageous prices while keeping the production in NA with materials from Japan etc...

I think I read that most retailers charge 2.5x-3x markup, but with techwear it's actually less due to increased costs. Acronym keeps their supply low and the hype high so they can charge that much.

I'm on vacation with my friends in Ireland, hiking up hills and mountains all day everyday. I only brought one pair of apc jeans (dat minimalist life) and they have been rained on, soaked through, muddied up, scratched by branches, and blow dried multiple times. This is the one time I wish I had some tech wear gear

You literally said you would pay that much because you believe in paying people more for a better wage, when in actual fact you are paying that mount for the design. We all know that, but you pretend it is for an ethical reason. And then you backtrack along with everyone else and agree that yes, it is for the design, and now it is for supply and demand. Even if the items were new they would still sell at less than retail because second-hand sellers lack the return policy and customer support of retailers. The price of purchase for most high fashion items vary wildly depending on store location, taxes, mark-ups, sales, etc. The only items that sell at consistent high prices are really low supply/high demand stuff like yeezy sneakers.
