Havent tried their USA service but their euro one was very fast (but a little pricey) i have a friend that lives in new york and i suppose i could get her to ship stuff to me but i'd rather not hassle her i really just want canada to be relevant, you feel me?

Sort of vague so let me know if you need anymore information before answering, thanks guys! Dark brown or black plain chelsea boots. You'll thank me later.

I'm not sure about other stuff as I haven't really paid attention to other brands. Best thing to do if you're looking for the most bang for your buck is buying off greymarket if buying retail is out of reach for you. Really though, I think ToJ is a little overpriced at 800. They're gouging prices based off the news of closure, and I don't think I'm wrong when I say they could still be making a healthy profit at a 600$ pricepoint. Anyhow, I still think ToJ is a great leather company but it's not as much value as people may think they're getting. edit: I'll just order leather clothing manufacturer (to my knowledge) in terms of quality from lowest to high. naturally price corresponds to the quality. (?) denotes an educated guess because I've seen conflicting accounts about different seasons, and spaces indicates tiers. ranking based on quality of the leather rather than the design. btw don't buy from the first tier. + Show Spoiler + ekam allsaints schott lithium homme ToJ takahashi/undercoverism viridi-anne (?) acne ysl dior jun hashimoto/wjk kazuyuki kumagai/attachment MMM backlash incarnation bbs rick owens julius MA+ ccp hermes

I'd be interested in their reaction, especially given what drew has said previously comparing TOJ leather quality to other brands: + Show Spoiler + ------------------------------------- Originally Posted by impolyt_one View Post if you could see my MMM leather in person, this question is not even a question - the jacket looks cool because it's been worn to death for almost 12 years, but it's not high quality. The MMM calf is about one to one with the TOJ stuff on the topside finish though I might be edging the MMM out a bit, it's hard to tell since there isn't an unwrinkled spot on my MMM anywhere (our calf is near flawless in the hide and we pay a huge premium for that) but the MMM is very thin for calf, not even 3oz, more like 2oz (about 0.6-8mm, it's really quite thin), the lining is cheap cotton+viscose (that has gaping holes all over, and I have to stuff the strands of sleeve lining back into the sleeves), all the seams around the zippers and placket are just sewn and then excess edges are cut - when the seams break away from the stitching there's nothing to do about repairing it cleanly that way. The jacket is missing the little flashing details of leather that 'hide' the zips like on my TOJ jackets, etc, and the folded over/sewn seams. The MRS zippers are nice on the MMM, but pound for pound the YKK Japans are about as good functionally - which is why MMM themselves moved to the same YKK zips later on. If you ever look at the Junya X Vanson leathers, you see they use the same exact front zip as we do. It's the same part in a bright finish. --------------------------------------- In other less conflicting thoughts, I saw a Tom Ford harrington-esque leather yesterday selling at Isetan for pretty much $10K on the dot, and it was made from TOJ leather, the black NZ lamb. lol. Workmanship was good, but not better than what I can do. It had some nice striped wool ribbing on it, but shit, a TOJ costs 7% of what this jacket costs, it is truly amazing to think about. The hand and grain was exactly the same on the leather; if I put a few dollars more into little things that aren't really necessary, like tags and interior lining details, my jackets would hit 100% as hard as that TF. crazy.

however, in my mind mmm is rated lower if it weren't for the quality of their bags/their 0 line. their jackets (line 14 I think? margiela labeling is hard) are in the acne/ysl/dior tier.

they're midweight at 16oz, not too tall though, with a 32" inseam. stacks aren't super crazy and I can wear them without cuffing. $240 (i bought in store), but there's prolly deals online or something. not sure what other things you're looking for, feel free to ask i rotate between RRLs and my acne pair (which aren't raw) because im being a weak fuck and waiting to repair a crotch hole in my APCs instead of not giving a fuck because really its denim and i can always repair it later. i like having a rotation compared to only wearing 1 pair, even if you're only cycling through 2. gives you more variety at least. also i got levis rigid dragons, which are pretty much what i expected for $30 raw denim. i dont think im gonna wash them - im just gonna see how badly i can wreck them since they're my beater pair.
