All Peacoats are wonderful. In addition, getting a navy suit is a smarter choice than a black one; it's got a better color quality in general, and it actually can look black at times

people tie in personality and aesthetics sort of.
personally i dont think there's any color more straight-laced and good looking than black for a suit.

In a professional setting, black is sometimes considered too formal or too bold. Unless you have black hair, a black suit will also contrast your features more making the suit stand out. In an interview, you don't want to be showing off (or worse, be distracting with) what you are wearing. Black suits aren't terrible for business, it's just that navy blue or charcoal grey are considered more conservative.
Edit: As for what shoes to wear with a navy/grey suit, you can never go wrong with black shoes. Some brown shoes just don't work with some navy/grey suits.

I've got black hair, so would you say that wearing a black suit wouldn't kill me?

Don't wear a god damn black suit. You're not an FBI agent and you're not going to a funeral
Charcoal or Navy is standard. I wear a lighter grey suit with brown wingtip oxfords usually.

It'll look better on you than one would on me, but depending on what type of interview, I'd still say it's not conservative enough. It wouldn't kill you, but like others are saying, black suits are for funerals, maitre d' s, and black tie events.

Gotcha. Considering my career path, a navy/coal suit would be more useful, assuming I need a suit at all.

Every time I see one of those hats I think, "oh that's kinda cool," but then I wonder what the hell kind of coat it would go with. Definitely not the pea coat I usually wear haha.

How the hell do I get sweat stains out of the neck and armpit regions of a white dress shirt?
I live in humid-as-fuck south Texas and every one of my white dress shirts seems to get ruined within a month's time.
How do you care for them usually? I get all my shirts dry cleaned; too much hassle to wash and press them at home. They last a lot longer that way I think as well.

I am not extremely fashionable, but I do know a few things that girlfriend that told me that hold true.
Learn to match your clothes, it's not hard, and it's really appealing to women.
Women LOVE pea-coats.
A nicer looking watch goes a long way.
Buy nice shoes. By this not just sneakers, but some decent loafers and what not.
As I said, I don't know shit about fashion, but I stick to those rules, and it works out very well, helps you stand out a bit from the rest of the crowd.

does anyone know where korean gamers buy the shiny looking jackets with fur hoodie lining?

Can we please get TLO to this thread? You noobs talk about fashion, but it is all babble and heresy without the GOD of fashion...

These are REALLY Korean. You're best bet is North Face (In Korean), Giordano (In Korea), or Uniqlo (Japan) and at least $80

I really, really love black. Black every day of my life! I can definitely understand you guys when it comes to suit jackets, though; I'd be more inclined to wear something a bit less stand-outish. I usually go with black slacks and a black dress shirt if I can, though -- I don't think a black dress shirt (long-sleeved) with a tie is bad. Looks quite slick on me, even with my brown hair and eyes, probably because I'm more on the dark-featured side than light.
Black 4 lief.

If you guys could only have one suit in your closet, you are saying you would not go with a black suit? Why is a "bold" looking suit bad for an interview...I would think it would be better. And I personally don't think black suits look bold. Also I think I look good in black.
