The idea of this thread is to post ONLY messages of thanks to a community member/player/etc for something you appreciate that they have done in 2011.
I would like to thank Orb, Diamond and the graphics guy of ESV for producing high quality content throughout the ESV Weekly competition. It has brought "no-name" Koreans to people's attention, and provided a lot of entertainment and also exposure for new maps.
- Overlay guy: So much nice information presented cleanly for the viewers.
- Orb: Casting all the games and the little things like going through map features etc at the start to add more depth to the whole thing.
- Diamond: For organising the whole thing, and managing to get Koreans to play new western made maps, and taking onboard community feedback and talking to the community.
|
I'm thanking all the people whose name I don't know but do cool stuff behind the scenes and never get recognition for it.
|
I would like to thank Husky because he introduced me so well to sc2 right after release and got me so hooked up!
|
Day[9] - For giving me something to watch late at night and that is enjoyable ♥
|
Thankyou White-ra for shaking my hand at dreamhack Thankyou Tasteless making me laugh on a daily basis Thankyou Jinro for giving my viewers "wisdom" while I casted a tournament live.
|
I want to thank Gunrun for being the guru of technical stuff. The master puppeteer behind esports <3 gunrun
|
I would like to thank NesTea for allowing me to be part of his dream, such an honor
|
Thanks Sheth, for being the friendliest and most entertaining Zerg streamer out there as well as raising money for Doctors Without Borders.
|
I want to thank Davidr64yt otherwise known as X. He isn't really a starcraft guy, but I wouldn't have gotten into starcraft, if it wasn't for him.
|
thank artosis for teaching me how to be a nerd baller and tasteless for keeping my teeth clean =)
|
Thank you to everyone! The entire community!

Gunrun times 100, yes. This guy is there to help everyone and he does it with a smile. I wish I were half as technically competent as him so I could help out.
|
I would like to thank the whole group I refer to mentally as the "LiveReport Community", specifically: MrCon Asha` Drazerk Seeker Hassybaby for all the work they put in.
Anyone who ever posted in a LiveReport thread in 2011, it's really a great atmosphere (for the most part) to experience while watching a tournament, or should you be in a situation where you're unable to watch, follow the action. Thanks to everyone who makes my favorite part of TeamLiquid a possibility!
EDIT: I'd also really like to throw a thanks to Khaldor in there as well. I appreciate everything any caster does for the community, but Khaldor is like the German Superhero of ESPORTS. He stays up all night in Korea doing GSL, then KSL, then he jumps over and does European events as well. He really works so hard, and deserves recognition for that.
|
If I had to pick one person over the past year, I'd like to thank Day[9] for all his work - truly an inspiration to myself, and I'm sure many others in the community.
It's slightly cliche, but I'd like to thank everyone in the entire SC2 community for making it such a truly a wonderful place to be - you can find all the things in it that make life great: laughter, camaraderie, deep insight, excitement, passion! I'm certain that it will continue to go from strength to strength in 2012 and certainly hope, on a personal level, to get more involved.
A Happy New Year to you all. SC2 fightiiiiiiing!
|
Everyone who watches streams
|
I wanna thank few people among many, awesome live-reporters, Drazerk especially.
And then Seeker, MrCon, Hyde etc, for making and updating all the tournament threads on both SC2 and Broodwar section.

Have to thank Day[9] for bringing me so much enjoyment and helping me understand his life. Wish I would have started watching him a long time ago. I'd also like to thank Seeker, and everyone else who helps run the SC2 and BW Open Threads.

I'd like to thank Blazinghand. He's often found on strat threads giving great advice, is always willing to play some games, has set up some key threads, and has helped myself and Bearmode cast.

Ditto. He was the first person to introduce me to SC2 and I have never looked back. He also produces a lot of other high quality youtube videos aswell. Everyone should check him out.
|
Day 9 for sure just for being a total baller :D.
|
I'd like to thank Husky for introducing me to SC2 (and to a greater extent, professional gaming). Without him, I would have never known the passion people have for gaming and would have continued to look down on it as a joke.
|
idra.. for being godlike day9... for being day9...
|
Thanks to all the amazing people who has provided us endless hours of great entertainment.
Most of all though, thank you CatZ&drewbie, as always it is a great honor to be fan of you guys. Also thank you Naniwa and HuK for being exactly the way you are.
|
I want to thank Derrick ''PsY'' Anderson, aka Psystarcraft, for introducing me to the SC2 pro scene and e-Sports, for getting me all the way to platinum, and most of all for introducing me to Idra. I'd also like to thank Idra, for all the awesome memories and awesomeness taht occured this year. It truly has been an emotional rollercoaster, but the highs often weighed up for the bad tenfold.
I'd also like to thank the people I've gotten to know in Idra's fanclub, more specifically Whole, KanadiaSteve and Some1. The MC thing was a blast, as long as it lasted ^^
And I also want to thank the whole of the SC2 community for being awesome, and you casters and community persons that spend oh so much time on this at times infuriating game, making awesome entertaining content for the rest of us ^^
So much for a single member...
Edit: This year with SC2, e-Sports and Idra has sadly been the best of my life. May 2012 be as awesome :D
|
SlayerS_Dragon for brightening my day every time he streams.

As well as all the liquipedia guys for making liquipedia an amazing resource to use.

I got a few people who I'd like to thank for making SC2 even more fun to watch and be a part of. There's actually put into one post so I'll just name a few.
Husky and HDStarcraft for the HDH tournament that first got me into Starcarft2 and E-sports in general. Before then I only played games but never watched them. The commentary and the games where so entertaining and I loved every bit of it.
Kennigit for the great interview he did just Dustin Browder. I'm glad it wasn't a full on balance whinge at him but it was actually a proper interview. Made SC2 fans and TL look good to. Compared to other forums anyway.
Day9 - For his great dailys and commentary on games. His Funday Mondays in particler where just hilarious to watch.
State of the game - I love watching this show and I hate it when I ever miss one. I love to watch it live the most and these guys bring even more entertainment for me to enjoy.
Destiny and Debo - God damn these guys are gangsta. Always having fun games and talking smack or saying something ridiculous to get me laughing. Good times.
|
I would like to thank everybody for a wonderf- ESPORTSFUL year
|
TY to HotBid, Kennigit, Nazgul and everybody who make TL, ♥
|
John Tasteless Artosis = they make magic
|
I'd like to thank all the pros who stream consistently. Special shoutouts to those who commentate regularly. I'd be no where near where I am skill-wise today without that content. Plus, it's way more interesting than watching TV most of the time, so I'd be bored out of my mind as well as horrendous at Starcraft without them.
Also, thank you to everyone involved with shows like SotG, ITG, LO3, etc. You guys put in so much work to make amazing stuff every week, and my commutes to school would be significantly worse without them to listen to.
|
I thank all the people who post on TL for making it possible for me to lurk. Happy New Year!
|
Stephano for representing the U.S during IPL3.
Sheth for being awesome.
ForGG for making a big switch and giving us great games.

Idk why everyone is saying Stephano is American :/
Anyways, I have to give huge props to Day9 for inducing me into the world of competitive starcraft. Great stuff!
HerO, for inspiring me to relook at my worst MU in a new way.
And I think that the blue posters in the strat forum can never get enough appreciation for the massive amount of help they dole out on a daily basis.
Last but not least, I think everyone deserves to be thanked for the tremendous growth of eSports in 2011. It could not have happened without the amazing support of the entire community for every tournament.

|
Coherence--my boyfriend, who introduced me to the game and has been *insanely* patient in coaching me. Rusko--a master-level guy who has still let Bronze-level me play 3v3s with him and Coherence. %) Ailuj--for taking it like a champ against LosirA at MLG PVD and giving a boost to female gamers in the process. I'm going to try to improve so that I don't give female gamers a bad name and undo all your awesome work! lol Jinro--for being amazing. ...and really to all the pros who have been so relaxed about giving photos and autographs between matches at tournaments, and who are really involved in the fan community with interviews, streams, casts, etc. That kind of intermingling between pro and non-pro is pretty rare in other activities, and I think it's awesome.

All the LR legends who make tournament watching worth. Seriously, the best group of people on the internet, bar none. If there was an LR People fan club, I would post in it everyday, just because. JP, the self deprecating goofy legend who makes THE Starcraft podcast. Everyone who is positive and joyful and loves TL, you guys rock as well.

I thank Day9 for being a good entertainer for us casual players.
I thank IdrA for showing very high level zerg gameplay (fav. player =)).

Drogith and m155_g33k for creating and running the New England sc2 league!
|
I would like to thank Tastosis for coming out around the world to make foreign tournaments that much more awesome. Thanks to Russallo, Gretorp and the NASL crew for being bold and trying something new. There may have been some hiccups during the run, but I firmly believe it was a good step forward for esports and foreign/American sc2. Thanks to ign for similar reasons. While it wasn't a whole different paradigm like nasl, the ipl did really move esports forward and was probably a big gamble for an organization like ign which was pretty established in a different niche. Last, but not least, thanks to day9. Without that enthusiasm and humor I, like many others I'm sure, would never have made the transition from occasional ladder player to esports partisan.
|
I would like to thank InControl because hes such a great guy no matter how much shit he takes from the trolls he keeps on keepin on and being the fantastic guy he is.

Cella, for making me a chat mod, and for being awesome and staying up to drink with the stream viewers on Xmas when he was obviously dead tired.

I want to thank:
- Everyone who actually Live Reports in LR threads - Map makers of the community. Without them, SC2 wouldn't evolve as much - Khaldor for always putting so much into his casts, especially when he casts alone for KSL, streaming up to 8 hours sometimes. I really appreciate the content.
Also, i'd like to thank the TL staff for overall doing an amazing job at keeping this place as friendly as possible. I love the forums and Liquipedia.

Thanks to every foreigner who slayed a Korean. Seeing that just feels so good.

I want to thank:
HD Starcraft for opening up the world of starcraft to a bronze leaguer who thought the community didn't extend beyond the ladder a year ago
Thisisjimmy for his old Starcraft Connection FPVod's with commentary, that helped me understand the game enough to jump a couple of leagues
Trump and Demuslim for having entertaining and educational streams that I've poured countless hours into

I'd like to thank Day[9] for introducing me to this glorious game and for having such character and class. He truly taught me how to love E-sports.
I'd like to thank -orb- for casting his stream when SC2 was still young.
I'd like the thank White-Ra for inspiring me. "More GG, More Skill"
