Sittin' on the beach during a hurricane like its 1979. You should get out there jk high wind + surf = bad!!

I used to live in Spain for 3 years. Surfed every day after school. I just love it and wan't to start surfing again, but no water here

As a southern californian, like basically every other kid here I surf, but I'm not really as into it as the others are (I'm more into SC2 )
Never seen a beach on this earth, save for in the Yucatan, that matched the beaches I live literally 3 minutes away from though. Southern Orange County's beaches are stunning edit: come to think of it, Costa Rica's beaches are awesome too

Started this summer with a 3 day course. I'm barely able to make a takeoff. Will go surfing again ASAP, it's addicting.

I want to start surfing. Gonna go with some friends to Marocco or something and surf for a week or two sometime, but don't know when.

does windsurfing count??

Anything counts man! Yo, these swells were amazing today. I'm dead tired though, haven't surfed in such a long time. They were about 7ft - 9ft at least, so much fun! Doing this again tomorrow!

Why isn't there a surfing thread? I grew up surfing, and I go out every few days or so with friends or by myself. Here on the East coast though it's typically small, and this hurricane is a blessing. Although its gona come so close to where I live that the wind is gona be all over it and it could get pretty blown out. But head high waves here where I live are always welcome, no matter the conditions.

the wind at the moment is at 31mph for me... and there still people out here surfing this shit up. I'm in Miami Beach btw. We really don't care, it's super choppy but we have too because these are our only chances.

You must be enjoying the hurricane ShoCkeyy... I'm a surf addict, if you have twitter or anything it'd be awesome to keep uptodate with people who are into surfing and starcraft

When you have to live with 4 foot waves every day even 30mph winds and rip tides don't look so bad anymore.

I have been surfing for about 2 summers, i say summers because the water gets so damn cold that you cant go in it her unless you have a wetsuit, and im not willing to buy one. Well just curious as to whether any other tlnetters surf, and for how long, what they can do, what they ride etc.
I currently ride a 7\'4\" rocket shaped Charlie Baldwin board. I love it to death got it for 150$ cheap no dings brand spanking purdy. very old board looked up CB boards they dont exist anymore. I cant do much cant even turn,(turning is harder than you think) i live on the eastcoast so good waves are few and far between. and thats my surf story include yours!
In UK you need a wetsuit to go in the water in summer...
Surfing is brilliant fun though, I've only been a handful of times but I loved it.
My main hobby is BMX, somehow, someway this made it really easy to pick up surfing.
